He’s so grateful that, not only did he not even pay for the ad, he’s now trying to raid Vandy’s upcoming recruiting class and get them to switch to Penn St. In fact, I believe he’s already gotten 3-4 to switch with more to follow.
Between him and Grantham’s antics, it just goes to show the egos involved in coaching and how powerful they’ve become. Total lack of self awareness, though you sorta can’t blame them given the money they’re making combined with their overall leverage.

And honestly, of all the blogs on all the internets, this is the one I expected to actually think that was a good thing. The alternative here is that players, recruited under the pretense that JF would be at Vandy, be forced to honor a verbal commitment (not even a signed on) to the school instead of step back and take into account changing circumstances and entertain a new offer, which they could have done at any time anyway.
This is the place I go to read about the (good!) movement to allow the players to share in all of this wealth creation, and give them more rights as parties in what is essentially a cartel, and yet JF is all kinds of dirty things because 5 football players thought playing for him at Penn State was a better life opportunity than playing for someone they’ve never met at one of the 3 worst BCS football programs of the last 50 years.
I get that this community doesn’t like JF as a person because of a comment he made at a fundraising dinner about a Georgia recruit, and I agree completely with the community about how poor taste that was, but let’s all pull out heads out of places and think about (1) reality, and (2) what’s best for the players. JF is a recruiter first and foremost, like just about every other college football coach (especially the successful ones), and we all are smart enough to know exactly what that means in terms of what coaches say as means to those ends.

You oughta just hear the mewling media sycophants here in Pittsburgh slobbering over the genius move that they perceive this to be by Ped St. There is absolutely no sense of scale in the jabbering. It’s a coach who quite simply skated by with puff pastry easy OOC scheduling and a strange down cycle for traditional troublemakers (UF/UT and a shaken OMiss).
Truthfully, he’s walking into a place that has those same ingredients in play in B1G country. Hope he falls on his face (w/ those goggles on).

Coach Olivadotti and family will always be loved and respected by “Georgia”. What a man and his family! It would be hard to get up every day, go to work, to be focused while your daugher is the fight for her life. Best to them.

I also note that the first words out of Coach Pruitt’s mouth at this week’s presser were of thanks to Jimbo Fisher.
I even note that Chris Wilson, say what you will, left the program with gracious comments.
On the other hand, our former hero (let’s fess up, now) Todd Grantham showed that he made the right choice of alliances by his own choice of remarks (and tweets) earlier this week. Mr. Grantham, have you never heard the old saw about burning your bridges? Just stay the Hell out of our town from now on, y’hear?

Todd Grantham tweeted about once every 3 months, if that when he was at UGA. Now he has so much to say it’s nauseating. Coach Wilson was very active, and one can understand coach O’s struggles and never mind about all that. But, Grantham’s recent discovery of the tweet is abominable. Just goes to show how he really felt about UGA, our players, recruits and fanbase. We were personna non grata in his book.

Franklin has the big head. He was doing allright at Vandy…what with all the luck he had and blessings from the refs, etc….But he’s probably about to re-affirm The Peter Priciple. Expectations are a little dif at Vandy and PSU.
These people are looking for something good to finally come their way.
This will be like Sheriff Taylor finally letting Barney put the bullet in his gun.
The BIG winner in this deal is Tennessee because the in-state humiliation for them will finally end.

I never, ever thought I’d say this, but I actually feel kinda sorry for the Voles. Maybe the statute of limitations at taking grim satisfaction at all their troubles is starting to run out. Perhaps I’ll actually root for them against Bama’s Kiffy led offense next year instead of pulling for a sick satisfaction out of that offense laying a 4 or 5 TD win on UT. God, could you imagine the coonskin cap rending, spit-your-last-tooth out agony of that?

James Franklin was a defensive coach — who knew? I thought he was this up-and-coming offensive genius. I hope he falls flat on his face at PSU. I just hope Mason doesn’t bring Stanford’s commitment to winning to Nashville. He needs to understand the Dores’ tradition of SEC doormat.
