“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Won’t be missed by this fan. Mr. Hyperbole. Only announcer more annoying is Dick Vitale.

“As I’ve written previously, I think Musburger’s performance during Florida State’s win over Auburn in the BCS title game, as well as his performance over the last couple of years has earned him at least one of those playoff games. That, alas, is unlikely to happen”

Brilliant. I hadn’t heard that Live. Brent is whoever Brent wants to be depending upon the bottle he has just drunk.

On a somewhat related note, does anybody think we get our opener vs. Clemson moved to Labor Day Night? If you look at our open date during week 2 and Clemson’s next opponent it is possible.
Not saying I really want that to happen, but I could see it.

Man, we are having the greatest off season evah! I have been muting mustardburger for years. We might break Sakerlina’s string of pre-season national championships this year if this luck holds.

Because having Fowler in the job is an improvement?

Fowler blows whichever direction the wind does. Most annoying thing out of his mouth is his inability to pronounce “Jordan” from AU’s stadium. I swear he says Jer-dan and its like fingernails on a chalk board to me..

That’s how the man pronounced his name.

As have my south Georgia relatives for generations. That basketball guy messed it up for everybody.

“Herbstreit will help ease any transition given his professionalism and preparation.” There are a lot of Georgia fans including this one who would differ with the professionalism comment after what he did to us in 2007.

JRD, he might be attractive on the screen to those of the opposite gender, but he’s no friend of the Georgia program.

Sigh. I guess I’m hopelessly old school. I miss Ron Franklin, Keith Jackson, and Frank Broyles..

Those guys were the best. Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles at the WLOCP was a thing of beauty to behold.

Me too.
The closest we can get to Franklin is Brad Nessler, who’s the best in the business, IMO. He and Blackledge are the best team.

Folks who read the article in its entirety did notice they’re currently slating him for the SEC Network lead??? Disaster of epic proportions. I’d bet large sums of money he is least popular (in fact, more appropriately designated as “most detested”) in SEC country. Unfortunately confirms just how in touch the ESPN big whigs are with SEC country, and now they control our distribution.

YES! Herby, hell, college football just became better with his absence. Maybe they could get Gus Johnson to replace him.

You may get the next best thing in Mike Tirico!

Not a mention of Nessler, far and away their best play by play guy. At least they put Blackledge in there, the best color guy in CFB.

+1 – love Nessler and Blackledge.

As Barstool notes above, “Musburger has been offered the job of lead college football announcer for the upcoming SEC Network, which debuts at the end of August.”
And, according to this, not only is this buffoon not going away to blabbermouth heaven, we in the SEC are gonna pay extra on our cable bills to get him.
That breaks my heart.
Does anybody know what the situation with radio broadcasts vis a vis the SEC Network…Scott and Eric don’t exactly raise my goosebumps, but …

I can not a word about how the SEC Network bullshit will affect radio broadcasts…this makes me very nervous.
So, ultimately, I gonna pay more money (probably a good chunk more) for three of the people I actually hate…Tim Tebow, Paul fucking Finebaum and Brent Musberger.
Maybe that ticket to the game thing is beginning to make a resurgence.

I’ll take Scott and Eric over Mustbugger, Herbskreet, and that damn Danialson, Like when Munson called the games T.V. volume off, radio volume up.
