I don’t know what’s going on with the last spot on the staff, but I have to admit I sure am intrigued.

Making the presumptive first choice wait while you ‘talk to a couple of other people’? The return of Evil Richt…
The only reason he is the presumptive choice is because his name has come out in the media unlike the apparent other options.
Two words, Will Muschamp, lol.
Don’t see how this can look favorable from anyone’s perspective. If Richt doesn’t hire someone else, it would look like he “settled” for Ekeler after being turned down. If Ekeler is the right man, waiting until after NSD makes no sense from a recruiting standpoint. Time to fish or cut bait.
Making a hire because you are worried about the perception of it which no one will remember a couple months down the road would be horrible management.
Agree, I wasn’t saying we should take someone we didn’t really want just to avoid people thinking badly. Maybe I didn’t state it clearly but if Ekeler is our choice, get it done. If not, let him know that and let him go his own way. To go back and hire him after other interviews definitely looks we settled on our 2nd or 3rd choice. That was my point. It sounds like we have him hanging and I feel it was either right for us, or not….make the decision and tell him.
I am certain he’s the one. CMR is too.
The issue is obvious. Mike has too much hair.
CMR is looking for someone to double as ST Co-ordinator along with his other coaching responsibility. I’m betting on Derius Swinton or Brian Schneider, with Nick Sorensen or John Glenn as possibilities.
Is Belin definitely out? Realize he’s at home with Wake Forest but he’s a known quantity and has a super rep with STs. His stay with UGA was brief but believe he and family liked it here. Just wondering?
I would be THRILLED if Belin came back to Athens.
