“A spokesperson for Louisville told WPTV that coach Bobby Petrino had been made aware of the situation.”

And I, for one, can’t wait to hear his “do as I say, not as I did” response to this.

“Rhaheed-Muhammad, 17, refused to provide a DNA sample. So one was obtained via a search warrant at his school, and it showed a nearly 100 percent chance that he was the father.”

This was by far his high score on any school administered test in 4 years

I know this kid. I can’t believe he did this. Never a speck of trouble in his past. Dumb. But I get the Senator’s point. You think Bobby Petrino cares?

    • The thing that happened when she was an 11 year old is pretty serious. The 14 and 17 difference in age probably gets a pass because of age similarity. Times sure do change. When I was 17 it was the senior girls
and the girls that came home from college during the summer,
swimming/sunning at the officiers’ club pool that captured our attention. My
guess is they probably got a chuckle from us guys trying to hit on them and
engage them in meaningful conversations. I hustled up a lot a Tab diet drinks for those girls. lol.

Well….except for the whole statutory rape thing

        • He and I were speculating about intercourse being legal in Tennessee at that age. I pointed out the “touching” was very serious offense. The other is not statutory rape.
Tennessee-The age of consent in Tennessee is 18. A close-in-age exemption allows minors aged 13–17 to engage in sexual acts with partners less than 4 years older. Penalties differ depending on the age of the minor, as well as the age difference between the minor and the offender. (see Article 39-13-506. Statutory rape).[89″
But since this happened in Florida…
Florida-The age of consent in Florida is 18, but close-in-age exemptions exist. The law is complicated, but it appears that it is illegal to have sex with anyone under 12; legal for a person under 18 to have consensual sex with someone 12 or older (Section 794.11), and it is legal for a person 18-23 to have consensual sex with someone 16 or older (794.05). Persons 24 or older, or who are over 18 and have a position of authority over the other person are only permitted to have sex with them if they are at least 18.”

What a tragic situation for her and her family. Kids are dumb but his lack of thought about anyone or anything in regards to this is just sickening.

“do as I say, not as I did”

Bluto, Bobby getting some on the side isn’t in the same ballpark with an 11 year old girl alleging she got inappropriately touched, and later impregnated, by the same person. It ain’t even the same sport. As tempting, and deserved I might add, as it is to point out any and all predicaments Petrino’s previous actions will put him in, this isn’t one of’em.

Three years is a crime in Georgia statutory rape when the girl is that age.

    • “However, if the victim is 14 or 15 years old and the actor is age 18 or younger and within 4 years of the victim’s age, the crime is reduced to a misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of 1 year in prison.” The actor is in Florida with a different approach to the age similarity.

I have an older sister that was allowed to double date at 16 but be in by 11:OO. She doubled with a girlfriend and returned home a little disraught with her makeup smudged. My Mom noticed this and spoke with my Father. The neighbors wife was a nurse and she came over and spoke with her privately. It was all very serious and hush-hush! It turns out that her date was a little fresh and it upset my sister. But she was not harmed. Her date’s dad ran a auto repair business. Saturday my dad went to get his tires rotated. My mom got a phone call to pick my dad up. I was never told where she went to get him or why . I was later sent to retrieve my dads car. The bill had “No Charge” marked on it. Later in the week at HS basketball game I ran into the garage owner. He had a nice shiner and his nose was packed with gauze and taped up. He usually said hi… but that time he didn’t say a word to me. Not a word was ever spoken about the whole affair. It was over a year before my sister went out again but only in a group skating or football game.

His charge is a third degree felony in Florida. Fortunately for him he is being prosecuted as a juvenile, as he is 17 years old.
