One glaring omission from the article on Bert: it’s hard to saw how much of his success at Wisconsin was Bert and how much was Chris Ash, Paul Chryst, and Bob Bostad. Bielema is a CEO-type head coach and the coordinators and OL coach who made Wisconsin what it was are no longer with him. Chryst is at Pitt, Ash is at Ohio State, and Bostad was with the Bucs. I believe he is still unemployed for some reason, but his eye for talent and his OL coaching were fundamental to Wisconsin’s success. Bert has none of that help now.

Looked it up… Bostad got hired by the Titans.

Groo is right on. Our stadium was rocking for LUS and the Chickens. Those were great games that were important to the conference and nationally. Big rivals. Outstandking, exciting games. It was electric. You are never going to get that playing the likes of LA Monroe, Southern, Ga Southern, etc.

As a “younger” person, I think playing piped in music and marginalizing the Redcoats is a horrible move…
Even now, there are places like South Carolina and Tennessee where the band hardly plays.
And we want to become more like Clemson? I was worried Aaron was going to have a seizure last year with all the flashing videos as he walked up to the line of scrimmage to get under center (South Carolina and Auburn also do this). It is pathetic gamesmanship and kills the atmosphere…

I think he has lost a step with the 40 lb weight gain. He was perfect as a freshman. if it ain’t broke, why fix it.

No way is he 40lb heavier than his freshman weight. I thought 10-15. I still remember his first carry against Clemson, and his long screen against UF. His speed seemed fine to me. I like he can break tackles with his legs as opposed to Marshall.

Thank you to the guy that actually watches Georgia football games! If you’re watching and you think Gurley lost a step and put on 40 lbs you need to change the prescription in your glasses.

Why do fans like to dream up a bunch of nonsense to worry and complain about? Dude he weighed 220 as a freshman. If he’d put on 40 lbs he’d be 260 now. He’s 235-240 tops. He put on about 10-15 lbs last year and was fast as shit. Maybe you confused him with Quayvon Hicks.
Lost a step? Did you see him run away from the entire Florida defense that’s loaded with NFL talent? He caught a short pass over the middle and ran away from everyone and on a sprained ankle to boot. He was about 75-80% that game. He had a high ankle sprain all year bro. If you think he lost a step then that would be why. Before he got hurt against LSU he was averaging 9 yards/carry.
Perfect as a freshman? He was an 18 year old kid. He’s building his body into an NFL body.

Upon being told of opposing expert testimony, the overseers in the clubhouse held a private fundraiser for themselves with Calvin Candie as featured guest speaker on the Plantation business model for the health, benefit and welfare of the student athlete:
“Growing up the son of a huge plantation owner in Mississippi puts a white man in contact with a whole lot of black faces. I spent my whole life here right here in Candyland, surrounded by black faces. And seeing them every day, day in day out, I only had one question. Why don’t they kill us?”
To perk up the overseers after that downer of a presentation, Donald Remy and Mark Emmert hosted a farewell ball with maidens provided by the Tennessee Orange Crush Hostess committee
