Don’t know much about geography.

Butch Jones draws his own maps.

“We treat Georgia as a home state for us. You look at the proximity from Georgia to the University of Tennessee. This is home territory for us, and I think we’ve proven we’ve had great success with players from the state of Georgia…”

Sounds like another UT coach of recent memory.

Dooley and company want to recruit a five-hour, 300-mile radius from Knoxville and treat everything in that circle as “in-state” for UT.

Continuity, bitches.  Maybe that explains the back-to-back losing seasons.

Let’ sent the Athens CC PD, Jimmy Williamson and some ole fashioned Georgia justice so his players can receive proper punishment for their trangressions. That could only help.

I’m beginning to think you and DIF are the same person. 😉

          Yes, I am more prayerful.

Upon hearing that you can call me Flat Top everyone does was preparing to launch an attack south of the Tennessee valley with no authority, it’s time to say a little prayer in our effort to escape the unwanted advances of Butch and his ilk:

“And as for annexation, I beg to offer up an earnest prayer–and I entreat all present and all Christians to join me in it–that the banns of that union should be forbidden until we have found for ourselves a civilization morally, mentally, and physically higher than one which has culminated in almshouses, prisons, and hospitals….” And Happy Hour at Bar Knoxville.

      • Lol. That would be quite the coup. Someone managing to slip under Bluto’s anti sock puppetry radar for that length of time. 😉 The truth of the matter is DIF is a professional and posts here at GTP under Most Prolific Poster status. As for myself, I continue to struggle under the yoke of amateur poster status. I’m just waiting my turn to break into The League.

  2. He says Georgia is a home state for him as we just snatched the best player in Tennessee for the ’15 recruiting class right out from under his nose. I want us to beat them like a rented mule this fall.

if it’s all one state, can we go ahead and start drawing water from the Tennessee River just north of Ringgold? Share and share alike, bitches. 🙂

Probably good for Butch to think that way in order to prepare for his future tenure as coach at UT-Chattanooga.

Well, that puts Athens, Tuscaloosa and Lexington all in Tennessee.
I guess the good news is kids from these areas can attend UT and not pay out-of- state tuition.

For different values of “we” and “have had success”, sure.

I recall the guy three coaches ago having some success with Georgia players. Not as much with the three since.

They have been down for long enough that it makes you wonder if a few more down seasons would sink them indefinately. I guess they still recruit fairly well, but you can’t survive on false promises forever.

I am fairly confident that no matter who Butch gets, he and his staff can coach them down.

Greg McGarity thinks Butch Jones’ new theme song should be “Imagine” by John Lennon. I would definitely say Butch is a dreamer; I don’t know if his wife is named Yoko, however. I guess no analogy is ever 100% perfect.

The “TOOTH BRUSH” was invented in tennessee, anywhere else it would have been a “TEETH BRUSH”, am I not rite ?

Sadly he’s right about Atl. Some losers always goto UT but I don’t feel like its on a state level.

On average the most UGA can sign each year is 25. Obviously some good players are going to have to leave the state. UT has been living on that, and the occasional top player from Georgia who is a malcontent and wants to go elsewhere, for years.

      • Will the collective consciousness/knowledge will help me with this one…. some Atlanta star running back went to UT and not UGA because he wanted to play in ATL for SEC champions and then proceeded to get in legal trouble and never play for the championship. Who am I thinking of?
