When 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 cokes ain’t gettin’ it done.

What the AJ-C refers to as Georgia Tech’s “season-ticket strategy”:

The ticket office also came up with a clever incentive, two movie screenings to be held at Bobby Dodd Stadium in July for season-ticket holders only. Fans will be allowed to watch the movies – “Muppets Most Wanted” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” if you’re wondering – on the field. It’s a unique experience and, perhaps best of all for the athletic department, the cost is fairly negligible.

Why Tech doesn’t simply give in to the inevitable and offer a discount to Dragon*Con as part of its season ticket package escapes me.

  1. Nothing like those crisp July evenings when it’s still 88 degrees with 55% humidity even at 9pm.

A double-feature of Georgia Tech football and any of the following movies would do the trick.

    “Revenge Of The Nerds”
“The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy”
“Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle”

Just by-pass the football game altogether and go straight to the movies. They’d get more fannies in the seats.

I still stand by my idea that Tech needs to hire a minor league general manager as it’s AD and do a different wacky promo for each game

They could drive the ‘wreck’ in and 85 clowns could tumble out, one-by-one. Oh wait, that’s their team entering the field.

    “It’s a unique experience”

Yeah, no shit, a football field in Georgia, at night, in July, surrounded by a host of sweating, unwashed college kids, most of whom need subtitles.

Reminds me of the old Lewis Grizzard (I think) joke about the Tech guy who accidentally left his four tickets on the dashboard of his car. When he realized his mistakes and went back to get them, there were four more with them.

If you can’t pack ’em in for “Muppets Most Wanted”, then I just don’t know what else can be done. That is bringing out the big guns right there.

  7. How about the full run of Big Bang Theory for the Fighting Sheldons?

  8. BigDawg

What about 5 tickets, 5 hot dogs, and 5 cokes.

  9. They could show Conley’s Star Wars movie. I could see the headline. “UGA WR scores big at Bobby Dodd stadium”

We should helicopter CMR in during the movie and have him yell “Get off my field!”

We need someone to go get our students out of the bars and into stegeman for our bball games. 10-5 in the conference with no one there to watch. Hell, free tix won’t even get our students in there. Pitiful
