I could easily see South Carolina winning the SEC East. They avoid the Big 3 from the West, which if you look at how the East has been won the past few years, that’s a big deal.
Florida is going to be much better than people (particularly UGA fans) think, but they have a gauntlet. UGA has a pretty smooth slate, but I’m at the point where I simply refuse to buy into Georgia until I see a reason to.

Well, they have won the East only two out of the three last years, I see why you would doubt UGA could do it.

Big Three of the SEC West have shifted around somewhat over the past 3-4 years. One would not have included the barn amongst them this time a year ago but they are there now. South Carolina plays in their house on Oct 25 whereas we at least get the bstrds at home in Athens. They also have a home opener with Texas A&M (minus Manziel) whereas our other West matchup is against Arkansas in Little Rock. I feel that going to play in Columbia off of a bye weekend is a Good Thing, even though I would prefer our byes to further into the season (they will have played East Carolina the week prior). Even our wins there over the past 12 years have been too close for comfort, except for the 18-0 thumping administered in 2006. Was that the only time that Spurrier has had a goose egg planted on him in his college coaching career? He sure was whining about it the week after: officiating, whatever, you name it. A nice memory!

It wasn’t the only time, but I’m pretty sure it’s still the only time at Sakerlina. I think there might have been one shutout at UF too. Beyond that, probably plenty at Duke.

They dodged the big 3 from the West last season too, but it didn’t do them any good. Now they lose a very good QB, who as a running threat might have made the RBs’ jobs easier, and won’t have near the dangerous D-line as 2013. They might not slide down to pre-Clowney mediocrity, but I’d be surprised if SOS gets them 11 wins for the 3rd season in a row.

I assume you all noticed that, while he talked about the Gamecocks as a team and several individual players, Garcia could not bring himself to utter Spurrier’s name even one time. The hatred runs deep, man.
