“Physically, I can still do it.”

Herschel, I don’t know about the NFL, but if you ever wangle your last year of college eligibility back, I’d love to see what you could do in Athens.

    “a purported 1,500 push-ups and 3,500 sit-ups per day,”

Weight-training? What is it good for

  4. Herschel is amazing. There’s nobody like him. Like the article said, Herschel is just Herschel.

If he’s not going to come back, maybe he could just loan us one of his personalities. I’d prefer the one who showed up at Sanford Stadium on gamedays.

The program should just have him back for practice in full uniform. Can you imagine the buzz that would create? Just the visuals alone of him back in uniform would be awesome.

He should give every pre game speech fully dressed out, and then run out with the team.

It would be a hoot if he applied for, and got, another year of amateur eligibility. I don’t have any doubt he could still be effective, perhaps not for a full work load at RB but better than many. The man is a specimen, and has always had that wonderful attitude we wish more athletes had.

I admit it freely, I have never gotten over Herschel…all the much-hyped “Next Herschels” there is no one but Herschel.

To see Herschel tuck his head down as he hits third gear turning the corner on the toss sweep, Guy McIntyre out in front of him…a Rembrandt of football…just thinking about it gives me chills yet.

With all due respect guys, Gurshall my ass.

    • Gurley, when healthy, is great and CAN BE one of the best to ever play, if he gives it everything he’s got. And I hope that’s what happens this year.

But even if it does, it’d still be somewhat short of Herschel’s level. Herschel still resides in a class by himself. And there are no threats on the horizon.

He should apply for 4 more years of eligibility under one of his different persona’s.
