Almost cut my hair

I am having a very hard time deciding what part of the Steven Garcia being hired by Saturday Down South to do something (“I am definitely going to be doing it, but I am not exactly sure what I am going to be doing”) story is the most Garcia-ish.

I mean, there’s this…

Garcia, who is once again sporting hair to his shoulders, was interviewed and hired at a blackjack table at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Roberts said.

… and then there’s this:

“He said, ‘Do you want me to cut my hair?’ I said, ‘No, all of our fans call it the Stephen Garcia Mullet. You have to keep it,’” Roberts said.

What is it about South Carolina quarterbacks and mullets?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that alcohol was involved.

Help me understand something here: isn’t Saturday down south a blog just like get the picture? What’s the story here? Is this a massive troll?

Yes they are both blogs, but SDS is a bit more newesy. They write opinion pieces and cover the entire SEC. I would say it is more similar to Dawg Sports.

But isn’t SDS written by an FU grad/fan? If so, all credibility is lost up front by his use of the descriptive word “south” to describe Florida. But it does explain his love of all things “mullet”.

          • Man, I grew up on fried mullet.

We had an Oyster Bar in town, and the owners would drive to the Gulf early every morning and pick up the mullet and oysters off the boats. They had a way of filleting the mullet so that it butterflied, and you got the whole fish in one piece. It covered the whole plate.

Man, I miss that. Very fresh mullet is awesome. They were open almost 50 years, but closed in the ’90’s when they all finally died.

Who cares how he wears his hair?

    • Not me. When my sons were in HS and played sports they would push it to grow their hair long. No haircuts over the summer breaks. In college when no one cared… one son wore his like he was running for public office and the other buzzed his like he was in the military. lol.
