The SEC Network’s one sop to tradition

At least we know who will be calling the third-rate games on the network now.

You may remember Dave from such great moments like this:

No word on whether they’re getting the band back together, though.  Just don’t pair him with Andre Ware.  Please.

    Er, who’s been “inquiring”, exactly?

Please, please tell me Andre Ware and Cara Capuano will be joining the Dave-meister. Oh, please let it be.

To me the Play by Play guys are least objectionable, it’s the non-stop color guys who think they know everything about everything and everybody and must tell you during the game our they will explode. I literally scream at the TV when Jesse Palmer has the second chair so I guess I better tune up because he’s SEC Networks Primetime Color guy. It might help attendance at the games just to not have to listen to Jessie.

I bet if they ever took a poll of viewers, most would say JP is a condesending ass. Most would want him gone.

My dream team would be Kieth Jackson and Todd Blackledge. Of course, Kieth is through. But it would be great, wouldn’t it? Hell, I’d pick Al Ciraldo over Palmer and Ware.

i before e just doesn’t look right with Kieth. Again, I”m too lazy to look it up.

Kieth’s only 85. He should come back. It would make Uncle Verne look like a young whippersnapper.

Yet another reason I still have not “demanded” the SEC network from my cable provider, despite numerous requests from UGAA’s social media outlets.

No kidding. The has-been line-up ESPN/SEC NET is assembling is beyond the valley of the hind tit.

How is there a valley with only a single tit?

Good points. I can see I wasn’t udderly clear. I have long viewed our broadcast overlord as being a huge sow. With that in mind she would have two separate parallel rows of tits with six plus or minus tits per row thereby creating a valley in which there would actually be two hind tits, both of which are plenty good for the ESPN/SEC NET viewers of whom there will probably be none of us.

Tim Brando signed with FOX. His radio show pissed Bama Nation off so bad over the last few years SECN/ESPN passed him by. When he does play by play he is good…sticks to the basics.

Geez, Brando? That dude barely even learns the names of the starters before the game he calls. The epitome of a lazy hack.

Brando might be the most pompous out of all of them. No thanks. That was a contributor to the horror that was watching the 2013 UGA-Vandy matchup. Viewing that game really couldn’t have been much worse.

We’re due for a good PA for 6…the kind where the QB completely turns his back to the D. Mason to JSW would against Clemson would work just fine.

Why is this newsworthy? He has been doing the 12:30 SEC network game for the last several years.

U guys are a tough crowd. Dave Neal is not bad at all. I like it when a ‘non-partisan’ guy shows a little life. Hell, I yell at the TV when Miss St breaks a long one on the Barn, why shouldn’t he..? Now the color guys..? Yeah, most all of them blow. But not D Neal…

I tend to agree. For all their flaws, guys like Dave Neal and Uncle Verne remind me of fall Saturdays. And that’s not a bad thing.

I like Dave’s enthusiasm. Also, Dave’s dad was the best play-by-play guy the Falcons ever had.

Larry was good for the Falcons too, but you could tell they were not his first love.

This just proves there are too many games on TV if this is what we’re down to for announcers. At least we haven’t gotten Pam Ward for our 11:00 games. Yet.

I like Dave Neal, look forward to hearing him. Will remind me of my childhood hearing him call the early afternoon SEC games on JP. I dropped Directv and signed up for Dish yesterday, with access to the SEC Network being one reason why. (Also happen to be in the middle of a move, I can sign up as a new customer, get it on the cheap for a while.) I also like Tim Brando, wish he was going to be on the SECN. Not real happy about SECNs choice of Dari whatever for the nightly show. Hes kind of a douche. Is Pam Ward that chick that sounds like a dude? But I figure that with the secn, I will just get to see more UGA s#!t, which is what I’m about. I like UGA football, golf and Formula 1. I don’t really get this blog. Ok I think Im done here.

“I don’t really get this blog.”

Neither would Dave Neal or Pam Ward. Which one of these dudes is Pam Ward?
