Of course, if I’m wrong about it, they can always remedy the situation by expanding the pool to eight teams.

    With this post and the preceding one on #3, it’s good to know that @ESPNStatsInfo and #ESPNSEC know how to feature its new crown jewel league despite the lack of announcer/host talent slated to be on ESPN’s SEC Network

      What? The SEC network has hired the CROWN JEWELS of sport broadcasting such as Tim Brandon and Andre Ware…Since we are going old school Jefferson Pilot, why not bring back Kevin Kiley too…

    This actually may turn out to be an SEC Network advantage, since the current ESPN announcer/host guys are so biased and fickle.

    It’s a far cry from the curse the SEC with voodoo the ESPN Mag featured a couple years ago. Maybe the tide turns, and trends do go poof.

    Since I think this entire system was developed to screw the SEC, I guess I’ll have to see it to believe it. The bitch about the BCS was more about it being two teams not about the selection process. So why did they have to change everything that we were use to? To keep multiple SEC teams out of the four team play-off.

    We can only pray for that to occur, Senator, hopefully sooner and not later (like while I am alive to see the 8 team playoff become a reality. I fear the 4 team, half arse compromise, is here for the duration of the contract. Too much propaganda and fear tactics being spread on the inter webs.

      Of course, I hope they stay at 4 (as Bagman Bill promised they would for a dozen or so years). That way, you’ll get to live longer. One small point though: I thought spreading propaganda and fear was the whole point of the series of tubes

        Oh no, you can always find relief on the web. Impossible to not find someone who doesn’t make you feel better by agreeing with you, or that doesn’t make you realize you aren’t dumb at all.

        Now finding someone spreading propaganda and fear is just as easy though, regardless of your viewpoint. Everyone looks dumb or brilliant depending on whether you face left or right, that Al Gore really was a genius.

    I can see 2 SEC teams out of 4 but I guarantee you they will play each other in the semis. No way will they let 2 SEC teams play for the championship again.
