The smoove stylings of Paul Johnson, recruiter

Because nothing sells a program like a slight touch of desperation

Georgia Tech could also get a couple of commitments today: Brad and Scott Morgan, twin offensive linemen from Etowah High School, are considering accepting offers from the Yellow Jackets, according to’s Kelly Quinlan.

The twins got offered personally by Georgia Tech’s Paul Johnson on Wednesday under one condition: “We have to commit right away,” per Brad, who was ready to do it but his brother wanted a little time to think about it.

Think?  Shoot, son, don’t you know thinking just gets you in trouble?

In case Johnson’s looking for an even less subtle approach, here’s a golden oldie that should work wonders.

He can always forge their signatures, sad thing is the NCAA might make them honor the signatures.

Nice bedside manner ya got there, Genius. It would serve you right if they both turned you down. Offer them 4 cokes. Maybe they will commit then.

Now I’m going to retreat up into the Tech tower and fast until I get some ‘quick’ commits.

  5. So, if they don’t commit right away, he’s going to pull the offer? Isn’t he the guy that gets mad at kids if they look at another school once they commit? But he reserves the right to play table-cloth with offers on whatever terms he makes up?

    Question, is Paul Johnson:
    a) An asshole
    b) A total asshole
    c) A douche
    d) An douchy asshole

I hope he stays there forever.

The tag line in the next National Lampoon issue was, “You did and we didn’t”…Good times!

Last Aid and Deadman. I remember reading that as a ‘tween’. Wasn’t the main character’s name something like Hamster Tollhouse Cookie LaBrea?

Spurrier said a few years ago that he did the same thing at Florida; made the offer and said they had to commit right then and there. At Florida, riding high in the 90’s, I could understand. But Tech? And Paul the Johnson?

Why wouldn’t some aspiring OL not want to play for PJ? I mean who wouldn’t like diving at their opponent’s knees for the next 4 years?
