Paul Meyerberg is just another “Dawgrader”. If he thinks KSU is going to give AU more trouble than Georgia with, he’s either a genius or he’s stupid . There can be no in-between with such an opinion.

Not saying KSU has any better chance but there are many around the country who have that picked as an upset. As a bettor, the Thursday night home dog phenomenon is well known. Will have to watch K State’s early games to see what kind of talent they have but AU will be in for a fight that game regardless. They also see more offenses like Malzahn’s in the Big 12 than SEC teams do so it may be a better match-up than you think.
Not calling it yet, but I do hope they are giving the Wildcats several points so I can have a comfort zone when I place that bet. I know I will not be betting on AU in that circumstance.

Well, I’m hoping too!…If Auburn’s 2013 sucess was truely built on dumb luck, then maybe KSU will get them…What if their luck is as bad this year as it was good last year? They’d be hurting fo sho’.

FWIW, I don’t think KSU will beat Auburn, and I don’t want them to. I hate Auburn. But it’s in our best interests for Auburn to win. For some years now, I’ve never pulled for an OOC team to beat a SEC team. It’s akin to pulling against yourself.
That was due to the nature of the BCS. It’s even more true now that we have the CFP.

As you guys know, I’ve worried quite a bit this year about the fact that our offense hasn’t had a good first outing in a competitive opener since Bobo became OC. Sloppy and sluggish has been the rule in these games, and it’s been very costly.
So, I was more than happy, and somewhat relieved, to hear this from Bobo yesterday:
That’s sweet music to these ears. If ever we needed our offense to show up fully functioning in an opener, to show up solid, it’s this one. Maybe we don’t get it done, but at least we know we’re doing everything we can to achieve it.

Last year, Georgia gained 545 yards of offense, at a 7.9 ypp clip, and scored 35 points. FSU was the only team to outgain and outscore Clemson’s 2013 defense, and even FSU didn’t beat Georgia’s ypp number.
Just not seeing that as something less than a good outing.

I appreciate that. Nevertheless, we hurt ourselves with sloppy play and penalties.
IIRC, we had 7 offensive penalties in the game, all self-inflicted, I think all by the OL. And there were, clearly, at least 3 second-half drives that were killed by penalties, holding, etc.. Just not mentally sharp.
So that’s what I’ve been talking about. And was glad to hear Bobo address it yesterday:

No, it was a team loss for sure. But the offense had an opportunity to win it, had they played a fundamentally sound game. And I think Bobo agrees with that, as his remarks indicate.
BTW, one reason for that, IMO, was we weren’t in good shape. And Bobo made a direct point about that, saying the OL is in much better shape this year.
That’s great news, because we need to have a solid game on offense, take care of business, and build on it in preparation for SC.

I interpreted Richt’s remarks earlier this week the same way. Maybe Ramik read all those glowing comments about him and being 1st SEC and AA then developed an “NFL star’s ‘tude” toward pre-season and decided to sit back. I am sure the staff wouldn’t rush him after a concussion but there may be something else going on with his approach. As I said with the bad apples that left the defense earlier in the spring, I don’t want them on the field either if they aren’t busting it and going all in. Josh Clemons was the only talent I think we will miss out of that group, and Wilson would certainly be a setback, but only if they came in hungry. The comments this week does seem to indicate he has to get to work if he want to replace the guys who have been busting their hump. I like it, his stock would sink with NFL scouts if he isn’t able to quickly rise back to the top. He may have overplayed his hand, Pruitt doesn’t strike me as someone who plays games when it comes to effort/attitude.

Unfortunately, if Wilson returns too soon and has another concussion he will likely be out for the year. The Pro’s are more concerned with a concussion prone player now than ever before. M. Hall just quit the game due to concussions. I don’t think Wilson is faking it. I think CJP is just making a point to the guys that to play you have to practice.

+1. No one but the person with the concussion and the medical staff really understand how a body heals. Ramik has never shirked from doing the work. It disturbs me that he is been hassled for a legit injury.

I think KSU has a better position to beat AU from circumstance because they’re playing at home, far away, at night – and their coach is a proven schemer who can handle fast offenses.
I think UGA is in a better position from scheme and talent because of the power running game.
