It’s time.

There’s nothing like heading up for a home opener.  I’m getting ready to go.

For those of you planning on attending Hoppypalooza, remember the festivities start at 1:30.  We’re in the Railroad Lot (#29).  Look for a crudely lettered “GTP” sign and you’ll find us.

BYOB.  And your bad selves.

I could hear the Redcoats practicing from my apartment this morning as I walked my dog. I can’t wait to get my ass in Sanford. Glory, glory to old Georgia and to hell with Clemson!

Jealous of those of you who have the chance to attend in person. Up here in Maine I just will sit in my man cave and watch on ESPN. At least I have surround sound for the blasting music that is sure to come. Who do I have to listen to in the booth? Please tell me it’s not Palmer.

Wish I was there. Having flashbacks to those intense games in the 80’s. Got my red “G” flag out and wearing my black “G” t-shirt emblazened with “Friends don’t let friends wear orange!”. Doin’ my part from the midwest. GO DAWGS!

    GEORGIA VS CLEMSON 1975
“The Wednesday night prior to the contest, a group of UGA students ventured to Clemson and painted a good portion of the campus red. Not to be outdone, several Tiger students returned the next night and retaliated — and how.

Tiger paws, “Clemson,” and “Tigers” were painted in orange all across our beautiful campus. The orange paint job was so thorough, UGA’s Physical Plant had to resort to sandblasting the paint off instead of using customary steaming equipment. The plant estimated it would take a whopping 200 man hours to remove all the paint.

On the field, the game was won by the Bulldogs primarily because of their play in the trenches. Georgia’s offensive line paved the way for 366 rushing yards, including rare 100-yard individual performances by teammates. Bulldog backs Kevin McLee (23-103) and Glynn Harrison (16-107) each passed the century mark on the ground. Sophomore McLee, who tied a school single-game record with four touchdowns in just his fourth varsity game, declared, “You got to give 100 percent credit to those lineman.”

Georgia’s big guys up front were handed the ultimate compliment when offensive line coach Jimmy Vickers was given the game ball following the victory. Pessimistic Coach Dooley added, “I was honestly surprised at the way our offensive line handled Clemson.”

As far as the painting efforts by the students of the two schools, the Bulldogs would prevail in that aspect, as well. The UGA students who painted the Clemson campus red were never caught. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) On the contrary, the Tiger painters — four males between the ages of 20 and 22 — would eventually be arrested for not only criminal damage to property, but also defacing an auto tag. ๏̯͡๏

Following their painting, the Clemson quartet was apparently heading out of town back home, when they were stopped at a road block on the edge of Athens for the tape which remain covered over their car’s license plate. Ah, the value of a good Clemson education… Patrick Garbin

You realize that the Senator and his GTP crowd are over in Athens, whooping it up, back-slapping and getting happy while we “country kids” as Cojones has dubbed us, are sitting here, watching the clock waiting on the game. At least GSU is whipping NCST at the half….I hope it holds up…and the last I heard, Louisiana Monroe was beating Wake.
But the big boys play this evening and tonight. .

Our DB’s don’t look improved too much….This one’s a little discouraging so far….Georgia got screwed on a funble..but has wasted some possessions with bad scheming…Trying to be too cute, methinks.
Not the team I was hoping to see. Maybe the second half will be better.

The run defense and the pass rush isn’t bad, but Clemmons is having their way with the DB’s. HM looks nervous in the pocket…happy feet a couple of times….
Just dodged a bullet on the late fg miss by Clemmons.
It’s time for Georgia to git its stuff together.

I really hope Georgia turns it around in the second half, but honestly Clemson outplayed the Dawgs in the first half. They dropped a lot of goog passes or we would be behind instead of tied.
Better play calling and GET THE FRIGGIN BALL TO THE STUD!!!!!

Hey..what can we say? Georgia has found a defense and is pounding Clemson with the running game. Chubb looks like Hershel!
I hate it that I bitched about the first half…but this thing is looking really good now. SOS has to be sweating it…
Great job Dawgs…Forgive me for doubting/

This is what playing some defense does for you. No offense can or should have to score on nearly every possession for you to win. Tonight our defense actually played an active part in winning the game, and kept the game close until the offense got in the groove. When you score 45 points it should be a blow out, fun for everybody time like it was tonight, too often with us in the last 8-9 years its been a nail biter win or loss even when we score 35 or more, which the Georgia offense does more often than most teams. This is easily the proudest I have been of our whole team since the 2012 SEC Championship game, last year I was frequently proud of the offense’s (and Murray in particular)’s never give up attitude. Pay Jeremy Pruitt whatever it takes to keep him. Never settle for less than excellence on defense ever again Georgia fans. The last time we looked this good in an opener we lost to SC a week or two later but we did end the year in the Sugar Bowl and ranked No. 2 in the final poll. If we can keep getting better every week we’ve got a chance to be really really good come crunch time and then anything is possible. Finally, Todd Gurley, damn, just damn. Go Dawgs.

The scary thing is Georgia has running backs that didn’t even get on the field tonight. And the fullback runs at the end were fun.
Leonard Floyd is amazaing,as is Herrera.
Georgia could have scored at the end. Georgia would have scored again early in the game if the phoney fumble hadn’t been given to Clemson.
Gonna break the top ten this week.
