Remember, pundits, the Internet is forever.

Hindsight can be a beyotch.  In retrospect, this probably wasn’t the smartest preview to write.

UPDATE:  He gets the last name wrong, but you get the point.

Were we coveting Chad Morris? Is he serious?

  2. Tronan

Is this an example of a reporter trying to start a meme? If not (and even if so), WTH?

  3. 3rdandGrantham

Reminds me of an article from a national publication from the mid/late 90’s, in which the author proclaimed that the internet was overrated and would never be much of a factor in our lives. Went on to say that predictions that we’d soon be shopping/buying from various, soon-to-be online stores was utterly absurd and would never happen.

Okay, that article was far worse, but you get the point. Although, the fact that he tied in Chad Morris for the next UGA HC was way out there.

Speaking of pundits, John Pennington did a “Great Eight Review” at Mr. SEC that was right up our alley as fans, but saved his last remarks as an add-on which favored some of my previous remarks about a favorite person:

“And One To Grow On – Georgia has averaged at least 30 points per game in five of the last six seasons. The guy loses guys to injury, dismissal, early transfer, early NFL exit, and his offense continues to produce year-in and year-out. He’s the metronome of SEC offensive coordinators. Any Dawg fan who’s yapping about Bobo’s play-calling – and they’re still out there – might as well start barking at the moon. That’d make as much sense.”

Stuff that one in your pipe, naysayers.

  5. Jack Klompus

I guess his audition didn’t go well

  6. hassan

It looks like we did hire him at halftime.

  7. Ah hardee har har to that one.
Remember the Clempson jokes @ Hershel not scoring a TD on them? Wonder what those folks feel like when they think @ Gurley. .?

  8. IndyDawg

This is what happens when a sports writer taps into the tin foil hat wearing contingent for source material. You know, the kind that assert Donnan was a better coach than Richt because he won all his bowl games. Sheesh!

  9. Beakerdawg

    To quote General McAuliffe “Nuts”

  10. Timphd

Reminded me of one of Mark Bradley’s fabulous essays on the brilliance of CPJ or Corch Meyers.

  11. CannonDawg

To quote General Patton, “Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.”

  12. Bulldog Joe

If Chad can develop Deshaun Watson, he can write his ticket just about anywhere, but it won’t be here.

  13. Incredible.

BTW, did anybody notice Morris on the sideline during the game, and how he acted and carried himself? Just his way, I guess. But I don’t want him in Athens, in any capacity.

    • Bulldog Joe

Agreed. I saw it on the replay. Panic set in early with him.

      • uglydawg

Dean Legge wrote a check on Chad’s account and there weren’t sufficient funds to cover it…thus the panic. Mabe he’ll beat Legge”s natural ass for putting him on such a spot.

    • 3rdandGrantham

Some people just have “it” and/or look the part in some way or fashion. For me personally, he doesn’t at all from the few times I’ve seen him on tv during games over the past few years. While I do think he’s a good OC, who most likely has saved Dabo’s job since being hired by him, I just don’t see him being HC material at a big program.

    • Timphd

Thought a stroke was imminent from the way he was contorting himself and screaming. Compare that to Pruitt who was calmly calling the next d after every play, good or bad.

  14. Big Shock

Apparently High School Defensive Coordinator > High School Offensive Coordinator

  15. South FL Dawg

He gets a lot of credit for playing FSU and South Carolina; maybe he should have to win a few first.

  16. rampdawg

    Who’s Chad Morris?

  17. HamDawg11

Dude’s heart is gonna give out if he doesn’t chill out some on the sidelines. Probably wouldn’t be a bad move to put him up in the press box with the a/c on about 58!

  18. BrightOwl

I’ve been to a bunch of games but until last week I’d never been to the Dawgwalk. Coach got a louder, more enthusiastic cheer than Gurley did.

Whatever media idiots might say, Georgia fans are not looking for a replacement. I for one hopes he stays for another fourteen seasons.

  19. Cojones

Yeah. I read Legge’s freebie article and saw that. The War Dept called me to do some crap I promised in a weak moment (well, weaker than most of my moments) and didn’t get back til now. Nice to see it was caught and my motive was to call him out as 15 yrs of age, but that would have insulted the 10-15 yr olds.

Legge had a good article and didn’t spare the stat whip. Niiice observation.

    • Cojones

“….my motive was to call the him (the Clempson article writer out, not Legge, even though they both got the name wrong)…. A terrible writer who should check expressions carefully (me).

Anyway, Brent Venables, the author, should be ashamed of not knowing Ed McGranahan was D Coordinator at Clemsom. (Yes. Done intentionally)

The author in his “Special to the State” sure was special.

  20. americusdawg

The photo accompanying the article did it for me.

I imagine those two yahoos were saying to themselves “Can that scoreboard be right?”

  21. There must be something in the water in the state of South Carolina, the fans of both their universities are consistently delusional about their programs. (Coaches and players) Is it possible that the reporter is a good friend of Morrris’s agent because that is the only thing that makes sense to me.

  22. Gene Simmons

Here’s to playing Clempson every year-what a game!
