“I got to make sure I’m in town for the weekend on Parents Day.”

University of Arkansas at Little Rock AD resigns after his comments about the physical attributes of the mother of one of the school’s women soccer players were picked up on a live microphone.

The topper is that the school recently canned its baseball coach after he faced charges of sexual harassment.

Yet, these 2 did far worse and are still employed

  2. Senator, I assume you saw the news that Boom and Foley have officially canceled the Idaho game. Does anyone think Boom asked for it, so they could keep their bye week before the WLOCP? He must know that game is going to determine his fate as head coach. I also wonder if the suspended players will play this Saturday given the game didn’t happen.

As a man, I can’t believe another man would have a conversation about a woman’s physical attributes with other men. What a sick puppy. Forced resignation is not enough. He should be tarred, feathered, and hung in the public square.

And he is free to continue to do so.

Just not as an employee of UALR. Actions have consequences, whether they were intended or not. He is not being forced to resign because of a conversation. He is being forced to resign because he acted in a way that can/will cause harm to his employer.

Maybe ol Damon Evans can give him a few pointers on “riding the storm out” and resurfacing somewhere else.

Look, he is probably just as red-blooded man as the rest of us who are attracted to beautiful women. But come on man, just don’t say anything to anybody at a work function. You are just asking for it.

Too bad. Could have happened to most of us, I suspect. I know I can’t cast that first stone.

My conversation with a guy at 10 p.m. on Saturday night in the Man Cave will not be the same conversation I have with the same guy at 10 a.m. in Sunday school. Context is everything, and we know that instinctively.

If the leader of an organization is setting that kind of tone in the workplace, it’s bye-bye time.

Perception and timing is everything. That AD could be the greatest guy in the world, but it just highlights how you have to be very careful how you act in a workplace environment—one slip up and you’re done. I know a sales manager who is a great guy, and always behaved perfectly (a bit too stiff if anything). But during an annual, national sales meeting at headquarters out west, he loosened up and celebrated his team’s great year, got caught up in the moment, and ended up quite loaded (as did his reports).

The next day it was evident he’d had a rough night, and word got back to the various suits about their drinking/celebration as well. A day after returning home from the sales meeting, he was fired. The CEO remarked that, if he’s getting drunk out here at a sales meeting, imagine what he must be doing back home on a regular basis. Though this was far from true as he’s a light drinker, perception was everything in this case, and as a result he’s out of a very solid, well paying job.

What I can’t figure is why wide-right, the ex-UALR baseball coach, just didn’t use the Process of threatening to stick a barometer up their ass because when you do that you get a pay raise and a contract extension
