Face it, if Bill Hancock had declared Pat Haden’s conduct to be a problem for the selection committee, it’s hard to see how he could have stopped there and not gone on to question having any active AD serving on the committee. That, of course, is the real issue being swept under the rug.

ADs are responsible for the financial integrity of the team they represent. Since the big five share the money equally among all the members, there’s no way that an active AD will be influenced by money when it comes time to vote for his conference over another one. They simply don’t let money shade their judgment. They’ve proven that over the years many times over. (Tongue planted firmly in cheek.)
