They’re playing Jordan Jenkins’ song.

I be amused.

And not everyone minds “Sandstorm.” Georgia junior linebacker Jordan Jenkins said it actually got him fired up.

“During the game I was like, Shoot this is gettin’ me hyped I don’t know why they keep playing it,” Jenkins said. “It doesn’t bother me as much as Rocky Top does.”

There’s a tried and true way to keep that tune from being played, Jordan.

Was it Fred Gibson who said he liked Rocky Top so much?

Except we looked horrible during his only visit to Columbia.

  4. I can remember as a boy hearing cowbells being belted out over the PA system at practice while the team was getting ready for Ole Miss. You could hear the damned things all the way to Five Points.

Not Rocky Top. UT will play that song for literally any situation.

We got a first down! Let’s celebrate with Rocky Top.

They stopped us from getting a first down! We better play Rocky Top to keep the crowd in it.

We completed a pass! Time for Rocky Top!

They sacked our QB! We’ll play Rocky Top to keep the team in good spirits.

TOUCHDOWN VOLS! We’ll play the school fight song, because we have to. Then we’ll play Rocky Top.

This. There is no way in heaven or on earth to stop them from playing that accursed song (which I actually liked before I became a rabid college football fan; thanks, UT; you suck). Well, if a meteor DID really hit Neyland, maybe that would do it.

As much as I hate Rocky Top, Sandstorm is worse.
