It’s amazing how much of the media gets sucked every year into believing Driskel’s a top-flight quarterback.

    When I saw driskell play in one of those all star games as a high schooler, I thought “here we go again, another big bruising quarterback for Florida to terrorize the SEC with”. He really looked great. Only problem for them, that never happened. He has no awareness on the field. He looks stiff and doesn’t have any ability to throw touch or finesse passes. His runs are ok when he goes straight ahead, but he doesn’t seem to make good decisions in the read option. Florida is a mess on offense with him. It’s just awful. Was embarassing to watch against Bama.

    I’m withholding judgment until the 2nd weekend in November. There’s a reason for Beyond Crompton in the lexicon, and I’m extremely nervous about whether Pruitt can keep this secondary together.

    Driskel has to be getting better to fit into the media’s template that the Gators are good and the recruiting services’ need to tell us how much they know about talent evaluation. He just doesn’t seem to be able to adjust to the overall speed of the game.

    I am not sure I understand why, but Florida just seemed to sag about midway through the third quarter. How can a Florida team be thin, numbers-wise, on defense?

    But the thing I really, really noticed was that Bama with a perimeter passing game is really scary.

    Much as it pains me to admit it, Lane Kiffin called a good game…with, apparently, a lot of input from daddy. I kept expecting Lane to trip on the leash and strangle either he or Nick.

    And in another thing that gives me some pain, I actually began to feel sorry for a Florida football coach. Well, almost sorry.

    It is not just Driskel.

    The next coach down there has a lot of work to do.

    Not time yet for my annual wish that we finally get to beat the Hey- Zeus out of the ‘Turds in a humiliating fashion…It’s in the back of my mind though. 😄

      Yes, this +100. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and am extremely thankful for the 3 game winning streak, but I’m still waiting for us to humiliate them the way they have humiliated us so many times in the recent past. Nothing could make me happier than having the 4th win in a row be an embarrassing blowout. Although, I have to say, ruining their undefeated season in 2012 was its own kind of special.

    All it takes is for an NFL coach to come in and flash his NFL SB rings and everyone will know he’s the correct one. What? Is that a fact? So that’s why his knuckles drug the ground. I thought it was because he was wider than he was tall.

    Don’t worry, they’ll rope someone into it.
