Cherry on top of the sundae

Just what we wanted to hear:

Freshman Sony Michel suffered a shoulder injury during the first half, and early indications were it would keep him out more than just a week. A source said it looked like it could be a month or more.

Michel left the game after carrying it three times for 17 yards, and a week after leading Georgia with 155 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

“We’ll find out more about (it) later on,” head coach Mark Richt said. “We don’t really know about him.”

Oh, yeah, we do.

They play dirty. They went after Gurley’s knees the whole game. Their coach is an asshole and I hope he chokes to death on his dinner.

Went after Mason’s knees on the td run as well.

      • For once we agree. They were going low on Gurley all day and they got away with what we would be called for chop blocks several times.

That particular crew of officials is another bad crew. The ref is particularly touchy about everybody respecting his “authority.” I saw him call an unsportsmanlike penalty on an East Carolina player a couple of weeks ago in the ECU-SCU game after a SCU fumble because the ECU player showed the crowd the ball when he came out of the pile. The ref had ruled it was recovered by SCU (it wasn’t) and that pissed the ref off that the player exposed his crookedness. That crew did everything it could to make SCU win that game. It worked. The ref probably is a buddy of Spurrier’s.

I know I’m the odd man out here, but sometimes you guys sound like Tider Insider members.

Of course they were going for Gurley’s knees. That’s how you tackle a 230lb running back when you weigh 190.

And dirty play had nothing to do with Sony Michel’s injury. If you watch the replay, Michel was talking trash after the previous play. He probably got hurt because somebody was bringing the wood to him after he ran his mouth.

Football is a very violent game. At this level, it is significantly more violent than even the highest levels of juco or DII ball.

But, by all means, continue to blame everyone else.

        Flame away.

looks like number 33 jumped in the air and landed on Sony while he was down. Either Sony landing on the ground or the pile jumper cause the injury. Don’t think it was too dirty just part of football. Now take a hike and get back on your own boards.

There goes a lot more than that, I’m afraid. You could see what a weapon he was on that drive where he got hurt.

Man. Us. What is with us?

      • It was weird. The play just before he was flipped onto his shoulder, Michel began mouthing at a UT defender. I had a brief flash of “Shut the H#ll up, freshman” and straight away some Vol got his revenge. Sometimes karma comes home to roost on the ball field.

Snake bit. We need every offensive weapon we can get to outscore a few people, and Michel was becoming a force. And that won’t be the worst of it, we are just now getting into the meat of our conference schedule, injuries will add up.

Yeah. What a comeback after not doing anything for 2 1/2 quarters. But I don’t look forward to going out there in 2 weeks either.

  10. Hell effing yeah seeing the old ball sack lose. Sucks about Michel though. I like his game. I wish KM the best and hope he can realize his potential finally and be healthy but Michel is basically what we hoped we’d get out of KM. Chubb sure as hell is no slouch either though so let’s knock on wood that he can stay healthy to spell Gurley.

I think we miss Sony more on kick coverage than at running back. Not to minimize his running back talent, which is great, but he was always first man down on kickof coverage. Without him TN nearly broke a couple of kick offs. Hope he’s back soon.
