Game day post, Vandy edition

Dawgs, could I ask a favor of you today?

Please don’t take off the first series or two of the first quarter.

Thanks.

    Jesse Palmer is terrible

Him and Mustardburger are a match made in hell. I’d rather listen to two guys armpit fart for four hours.

As much as I hate Palmer, working with a senile Mushberger has got to be hell. It’s like he’s not even trying anymore.

It was pretty funny today when Florida was down 9-7 and in FG range and Musburger goes:, “down 2 late in the 4th quarter you’ve got to go for it” and Palmer is like “um…actually you want to kick a FG here Brent and take a lead”. In fairness it was a pretty long FG but as an announcer its your job to know whether a team kicker has that kind of range. It’s like you said, it’s like Musburger’s not even trying anymore, which is bad because we always pretty bad even when he was trying.

Tennessee’s offense is the most recent in a long line to look like world beaters against our defense to be promptly revealed as clown fraudulent the next week.

I hated either team to win, but one of them had to. It was a painful and boring game to watch. Here’s hoping the Georgia defense improves week to week.
Who are y’all for in the Auburn / LSU game? I’m going to pull for LSU because Auburn is so phoney and besides I have a grandson that loves LSU for some reason (He could do worse, I guess).

Naw…the trajectory of the ball was influenced by the black helicopters circling Mason’s dorm room. They create a turbulence that cause ululation of the football. I stayed at the Athens Motel one time.

Danny Ware has endeared himself to Jesse Palmer by crediting Rico Johnson with giving up a long pass and also a penalty.

Watching the Bama Ole Miss game (it’s all I can get). Just saw an obvious facemask that nearly tore Bo Wallace’s head off for a fumble and Bammer touchdown. Happened right in front of the ref. No flag. Who says they ain’t in the bag for Bammer?

  26. Our QB is not Mason. Ramsey is the real QB of this team. I now know Richt and Bobo picked Mason soley on his 2 games of experience and 5th year senior status. They picked incorrectly.

Ok I’ll say it, I love this blog. Been coming here for years and it’s one of the few sites that I probably visit every day, but there are some genuine aholes here. Condescending, know-it-all, sanctimonious aholes. I’m sure I’ll probably get a reply from one of them.

Stanford doesn’t win with their offense, they shut you down until you make a mistake. Typical score is 17-14. They haven’t allowed more than 13 this year. The game against the whining Irish is the only time I root for the trees all year.

  28. Interesting play calling and rotation of personnel. Hutson haters truly need to STFU, but Ramsey does look promising. Is there anything Gurley can’t do? I’d throw deep every play against our D and just pray to score enough to keep up.

Well, so much for getting in a lot of passing reps. So much for getting Mitchell and JSW a good bit of work. And so much for limiting Gurley’s carries once the game was in hand.

    • Yeah. That was odd. I thought this week was going to be a tune up for the nonexistent passing game. Since last week I was accused of being a troll bc it just looked to me that something was wrong with Mason, I’ll say that he threw a few nice balls today that made me less worried. He had a few ducks still but I was amazed that he basically didn’t throw the ball after that pick.

I love watching Gurley and think handing the ball off to him or even Chubb is never a bad idea but damn. I’m afraid TG is gonna get worn out if we’re running him 10 times in a row in a game that’s pretty much in hand.

Kentucky’s about to beat Sakerlina 45-38. Macon Dawg’s got a good summary over at Dawg Sports, the short version would be the thing’s that we felt good about going into the game Gurley, Vandy not being very good, we continue to feel good about and we beat a not very good team at home as we should have. The things we had questions about, the passing game, the secondary, we still have questions about.

    • Mason threw a few pretty good balls and some shaky ones. Ramsey got a few series and we ran the living hell out of Gurley and barely tried to pass after Mason threw a pick. Not really the passing clinic we expected to see but Gurley was his usual great self. Even threw the longest completed pass in the game. Defense was hit or miss but looked ok against a rather pathetic Vandy team that kept rotating qbs even though one led both of their scoring drives.

      The Good:
      -we won
-Gurley is our best RB since #34
-Devin Bowman had a pick 6
      The Bad
-Vandy defender dropped an easy pick 6 early.
-If our DL doesn’t pressure QB, our DB’s look really bad
-Hutson INT was woefully bad throw.
-Several passes to our most experienced WR’s suggest that Connelly and Bennett forgot how to play or HM can’t put the ball where it is supposed to go.
