Thirteen is just a number, y’all.

With the news that Archie Manning is recusing himself from selection committee service for health reasons, the College Football Playoff folks announce they’ll muddle through the rest of the season with only a 12-member committee.

I can’t figure out if that’s a plus or a minus.

  1. Are they SURE there is not another non partial AD available?

I have made it clear I am not a big Archie Manning fan…post player days, but he does know stuff. Reckon he will recover in time to vote for Ole Miss at the end?

Man, these trips to the KBA meetings are getting rough, too, but so far…..

I hope the health issues are nothing serious.

Ole Miss has to be sorry to see him step down; he was one guy they knew would speak up for them if they lose a close Egg Bowl, miss out on the SEC Championship, and finish as one of the multitude of teams with a valid claim on the #4 spot.

Heard on the radio that it involved knee replacement surgery. I’ve had both done within six months of each other. You’re only totally out of pocket for about two weeks after surgery (although clearly, there are limitations) barring complications. Mine went great. I know people who have not had as much success as me. Still, he could attend meetings, take part in conference calls, and he will definitely be able to watch a lot of football. If I heard correctly, and that is what he’s having, I’d stay on, knowing what I know. He’d be at least as qualified as Condi Rice.

I think Fran Tarkenton is available. But he’s a Richt basher, so that probably wouldn’t help.

    Put Herschel on there

  6. Dog in Fla

Archie may have been the only one who belonged there

Can we get Pat Haden to step down for mental health reasons?

  8. Normaltown Mike

    Antonio Banderas would work.

This selection stuff stinks to High Heaven. But we have to deal with it. 8 team playoff is the ticket. You can cover the BEST TEAMS with 8.

  10. I’d be a damn good replacement.

  11. ASEF

And pffft goes any small chance of the SEC getting in two teams.

  12. Doesn’t an even number of committee members lead to the potential for a tie ?. Any idiot knows you can’t have an even number in this situation. Hire the Senator. Write your Senators and Congressmen…write in the Senator. While we’re at it DCWeez for President of the University
