Cream left an imprint on my memory. I can remember times and places where I heard them

The only reason Jack Bruce died is that Ginger Baker is too fucking mean to die.

Note to self…see Clapton live before it’s too late.

      Dude….really?

You have to. No matter where. Don’t wait for him to come to Austin. You go see him.

Agree, but he was in Europe all summer and I want to catch him át a smaller venue than one of those big music fests.

BTW, if the Jimmy Hendrix revue comes through your city, go see it. Everybody here in Austin agreed it was best guitar show ever. Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Zac Wilde, Eric Johnson just to name a few. 3 hours non-stop.

  7. At least he got a full life and didn’t OD at 29. ((shrugs)) Clapton’s autobiography has some good stuff on his time with Cream and it’s members. Really good book. RIP Jack Bruce. I’ll play my acoustic version of White Room tonight in your honor.

Loved the AM radio version. Got Wheels of Fire for Christmas, 1968…of course I wish all the ’60s albums I bought had survived being left on my dashboard in the sunshine, etc

    • My version is just something I came up with on guitar. Nothing great but I don’t really do electric and I enjoy it.

My mom gave me their entire vinyl collection. Over 200 albums of everything from Woodstock to the Beatles and Zep up to Genesis. I should have grown up in the 60s and 70s instead of being born in the 70s, especially when it comes to music.

Best palate cleanser you’ve posted Senator. Love Cream. Even when they were old, like me.

Sigh. I post vintage rock/blues videos every day at the site where I work, usually keyed to a death or a birthday, and yeah, the former are occurring with depressing frequency of late.

I used to work with a woman whose husband played in a band called Pressed Rat and Warthog. She told me I was the only other person she knew who was apparently aware of “Wheels of Fire.” Used to wear that vinyl out back in the day.

I used to go the music listening carrells in the UGA library and have the media clerk put on Wheels of Fire. I would crank it up to 10 and those nasty ass white earphones would just about come off my head. Great way to get math homework done.
