Who knows what Condoleezza Rice will be thinking?

When you don’t have computers making decisions, what’s the next move?  Why, marketing, of course.

That being said, I’m pretty sure Condi’s not voting like this:

Five of those six computer formulas that fed into the BCS standings have merged into the College Football Computer Composite and provide a look at how an entity free of the human element would seed the Playoff — and the entirety of the FBS, for that matter.

This week the CFCC would have an all-SEC four-team playoff of 1 seed Mississippi State, 2 seed Alabama, 3 seed Auburn and 4 seed Mississippi.

If SEC 2 teams get in, collective heads would explode. If 4 get in, the earth would come off its axis.

The only reason we have a playoff is because 2 SEC teams squared off in the BCS. This committee will not let that happen. I still think 4 will be notre dame, fsu, Sec champ, and some other team.

4 SEC schools would be fine. As long as we have at least 8 teams in the playoff. I smell expansion!!!

That’s hilarious! I like it, except that we aren’t in there.

Also, as soon as the computers swing the other way, I reserve the right to bitch about it.

It is so funny how stupid people are. All of the top 10 SEC teams have to play each other still:
Auburn vs Ole Miss, UGA, and Bama + SEC East champ
Bama vs Miss St, Auburn, SEC East Champ
Miss St vs Bama, Ole Miss, SEC East Champ
Ole Miss vs Auburn, Miss St, SEC East Champ
UGA vs Auburn, SEC West Champ

Someone has to lose each game, so really the absolute worst case scenario for them would be UGA winning out (except loss to Auburn) and winning the SEC at 11-2, Miss St going undefeated until the SEC champ game to be 12-1, and Auburn ending up at 11-1.

The more likely scenario is pretty much all of the teams taking another loss somewhere along the way and having a bunch of 10-2 SEC teams.

Thank you. I was just going to post the same thought. Having this discussion now is pretty silly.

Really having it before Championship Saturday is always silly, but that will never change as folks speculate. The pathetic part is all the passion and angst some fans get when they see these early polls and projections. Any rational person knows almost all of this will be sorted out by coming games, happens every year but how dare someone not project, or predict my/your team in playoff, or in certain bowls. Was bad during the BCS, still bad now. Merk is right though, UGA plays the significant role in a worst case scenario for the Committee.

My best case scenario is the UGA wins the East with one loss. 🙂
The west beats each other up, but MSU makes it thru undefeated.
SEC Champ game. UGA wins,:-) thus leaving a one loss UGA as the champeen and a one loss MSU as the runner up. Does MSU go to the playoffs?

The perfect scenario: win out and win the SECCG. Then finish either as the number 2 or 3 seed. Rose Bowl baby! And you know what after that.

  9. Unpopular opinion, but if MSU wins the West and Auburn wins out, Auburn should not go to the playoff. They’ve already lost to MSU, so we know who the better team is. There’s no need to prove it all over again.

Yes, that means I’m perfectly OK with one SEC team in the playoff.

  10. Would be nice if the seeding was done on the field the was it’s meant. Let’s shorten the season by as couple games(Oh no! Charleston southern and Troy) and replace those games with some kind of “region” playoff/championship. Or expand it to make a real playoff and have this actually decided in the field, not have lobbyist pick who will decide it on the field.

What a sexist comment. Not liking Condi on the committee is one thing but believe it or not a women can think about more than fashion and cooking.

Not to mention racist, not because of his comments today but it is the strategy of Leftists to keep black folks on the new “gubmint plantation” and attack any that dare not fall in line. So any non-conforming coloreds are free game…and man do they take issue with any that dare oppose the Party. Condi isn’t a good role model but Jesse Jackson is, pretty weird.

It’s reference to the fact that during Katrina, while New Orleans was drowning, Condoleezza Rice was shopping for Ferragamos in NYC, and that she’s been quite public about shopping as one of her favorite past times.
        Context matters, Dog in Fla.

She should have been saving New Orleans. Maybe she could have drove one of the evacuation buses that the city administrators never used…or filled sandbags. Maybe she could have disarmed those who were shooting at evacuation helicoptors..Good grief! What in the world is a Secretary of State for if not to halt the destruction of hurricanes?

Coni Rice is one of the most acccomplished and admirable people of our time. But that doesn’t make her a football expert…any more than being a woman or being a minority figure make her unfit to judge football.
I’d rather have Condi on the committee than say,Granny Holtz…a man with unarguably an impressive college football resume. He would vote for ND if they were 0 and 11.

Condoleezza Rice regrets vacationing, shoe-shopping during Katrina

“So Rice went to see the musical comedy ‘Spamalot.’ The next morning, she went shopping at the designer shoe store Ferragamo.

When she returned to her hotel, “the airwaves were filled with devastating pictures from New Orleans,” Rice wrote. ‘And the faces of most of the people in distress were black. I knew right away that I should never have left Washington’….

Shortly after, Rice saw that her ‘Spamalot’ outing had become a headline on the Drudge Report [a Leftist propaganda outlet].

“[I] sat there kicking myself for having been so tone-deaf,” she wrote. “I wasn’t just the secretary of State with responsibility for foreign affairs; I was the highest-ranking black in the administration and a key advisor to the president. What had I been thinking?”

Not about others that’s for sure.

I don’t know whether she can cook. She is a fashionista. She knows how to delegate and multi-task things like waterboarding, fingenail extraction and sleep deprivation torture. And she likes music

        Orchestrating Torture
        .
“It was Rice who ordered the CIA to use the torture techniques and dictated which procedures to use for how long. The CIA agents who carried out these brutal interrogations were acting under orders that came directly from the chairwoman of the Group of Principals: Condoleezza Rice….

Journalist Glenn Kessler said: “These ‘enhanced interrogation methods’ included water-boarding, fingernail extraction, and sleep deprivation. Condi signed off on the orders to the CIA with the words, ‘This is your Baby, go do it!’”

Richard Clarke, chief counter-terrorism adviser between 1992-2003 concurred: “Rice decided what torture to use on what person.”

we lose to Auburn at home but still win the East. Auburn beats Bama and MSU losses to both Bama and ole Miss which sends Auburn to SECCG. One loss Auburn plays two loss UGA in championship. We win the SEC championship at the Dome. Who goes to the play-offs? Auburn,Georgia, neither or both? The playoffs will clarify everything my ass. That would probably sent Bama wouldn’t it. Bring back the BCS
