What I did in Jacksonville last night.

The Georgia Bulldog Club meeting was a blast. Great turnout, and everyone there was gracious. I didn’t trip walking to or from the podium and the speech was well received.

Many thanks to Kevin Clark and the rest of the Club for extending me the invite. And if you’re ever in the neighborhood when there’s a meeting, drop in.

By the way, if you ever need somebody to fire up a Georgia crowd with a little Gator hate, Eric Zeier is your man. He killed it last night.

  1. Senator, we at least need a transcript of your remarks. Did you bring a court reporter with you? Was there any singing about where Gators can bite?

No doubt Zeier has reason to hate the Gators. (Time out)

Noticed Louvelle’s secondary looked confused at crunch time. Some things just don’t change.

Woke up in the middle of the night worried…I take that as a good sign.

    • Scorp, EZ has plenty of reasons to hate the Gators.
’91 – we were a year away from being competitive
’92 – that damn defense couldn’t get UF off the field to give EZ and the offense one more crack at winning the game.
’93 – the timeout (the only time I could say I was proud of a “moral victory”).
’94 – one of the ugliest performance by a Georgia team. EZ didn’t even finish the game in Gainesville because our o-line was so bad.

Grantham got exposed in the 2nd half. Maybe Louisville’s defensive stats were the result of the schedule they played.

I’ll start my worrying tonight and tomorrow morning. I’m going to play golf to get my mind off it for a while.

Todd “Gash’em” Grantham. I watched that game and while I wanted Louisville to win, it was deja vu all over again. I wonder how happy they are about that million now? BWAHAHAHA!

Those late TD’s where the D stacked the line of scrimmage, did not set the edge and took bad angles…..all too familiar.

CTG is smart enough to know that he can’t really hack it as a DC in college ball. He’ll be at L’ville for 3 seasons and then abruptly leave. 3 years is long enough to coach Strong’s players to statistical success against a crappy schedule and short enough to not be held responsible for his own recruits.

While I’m not a Grantham supporter by any stretch of the imagination, I’d like to put some of the blame on Lakatos as well for the secondary. I mean he was the secondary’s coach and I would think that he definitely had a say on who they recruited in the secondary. I think he was in over his head here at Georgia. And now I couldn’t be happier with what Pruitt has done so far this year and am excited to see what he can give us in years 2 and 3 (and hopefully longer).

I dunno. I think CTG was convinced that if he waved his arms furiously and constantly changed the plays, our guys would play like the Ravens or Steelers. The reality is that college players aren’t mature enough and good enough to play like that.

As to talent in our secondary, Tra will play in the NFL. JHC might, though he is bone-headed.

I get what you’re saying with Grantham waving his arms and constantly changing plays, but the secondary struggled all year and showed no signs of improvement while, the LB’s and DL had some good games and a decent year overall. And yeah, we were really young in the secondary but there was talent there which should have been coached up by both Grantham and Lakatos.

Stubbornly trying to run the ball to no avail for most of the game was what killed the ’92 team. What a frustrating game and season.

I am certain that whatever previous success Louisville has had on D this season is as a direct result to the quality of player recruited and coaching given by Charlie Strong and his staff when he was at Louisville. At crunch time, though, Grantham’s defensive play-calling kicked in allowing FSU to run away with the game. In the 4th quarter Louisville looked exactly like Grantham’s Georgia D looked last season. Bad angles, people looking like they didn’t know what to do, etc. By next season Grantham will have completely destroyed Louisville’s D. This is poetic justice for Petrino, however not for the Louisville players, students and fans.

      • Watching that game felt exactly like that reoccuring nightmare of being back in school but failing your classes: It was stressful and miserable, and the feeling only mostly went away upon waking and realizing it was just a dream, we don’t actually have a final due in a class we are skipping, and Grantham is no longer our problem.

Letting the clock run before Florida’s punt was either a mistake or intentional. If it was a mistake, it’s inexcusable. If it was intentional, that’s just embarrassing. Best offense in the SEC, and we’re not going to go for points in the final 1:30 of the half against one of our biggest rivals? Pathetic.

Keep your eye on the ball spotting…where it goes down and where it’s spotted by the Flori..I mean the SEC official.
Georgia is going to need to gamble on short yardage 4ths to have a chance.

About as uninspired coaching as I’ve ever seen. Did the fake kick suprise anyone of you? My WIFE called it. Georgia just (supposedly) missed a FG from the same distance…the wind is horrible….Muschamp has absolutley nothing to lose and we get caught flat footed. Florida has it figured out. Bust up the middle on defense and disrupt the play…stop Chubb and un-nerve Mason. It’s working so far. Georgia will be the defense sucking wind in the fourth if something doesn’t change.
Mason had better come out with his head on straight or we’re through.
We’re about to find out what this team has in it.

Richt is not a godly, righteous man. He’s a snitch who pretends to be a friend to his players then turns them in to the NCAA or kicks them off the team as the case may be rather than try to help them. He’s a fake.

It is Biggus. We lost this game when we tried the FG in the first period instead of pushing for a 1st down. Overconfident and conservative…while Muschamp was going to gamble any way he could to win this one. Refs giving every call to Florida, but that isnt the reason…just outplayed and outcoached by arguably the worst coach in the SEC. Some days just suck and this is one of them. We may have to pin our hopes for happinesss on upsettting Auburn when Gurley comes back.
