“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
Unless, one would presume, we manage to…..
And Missouri…..
Well, you know.

Speaking of broadcasts – has anyone listened to a game on radio recently?
How long have they been selling sponsorships for EVERY DAMNED THING that happens in the game?
We’ve got the Red Baron Red Zone, the Georgia Touchdown delivered by Chevy Truck Month, the Something Something Pest Control visit to the sidelines, the Georgia Metals TV Timeout, all coming to you from the Georgia’s Own Press Booth and broadcast on the IMG sports network.
I should surely save this topic for the offseason… but it makes the game almost impossible to listen to and it all comes off as pretty unseemly given all the discussions about money in the game, lack of pay for players, etc.

I have noticed. I’ve noticed so much I’ve learned to tune it out. So far, Dowdle on the sidelines seems to be immune but you know that’s coming. “Chuck, do you have an update on Barber’s injury?” “Scott, let’s take a look at the Midol injury update, it seems Colin is cramping just a bit. They’re hoping to get him back in the flow really soon. Back to you”.

Last time we played Tech at noon, we put a 42-10 beat down on them. Hopefully, we’ll do it again.

4 of the 7 home games at noon. This is nothing new. The UGA administration continues to request early games and the rest of the conference loves them for it.

After that 11:00 a.m. Mizzou kickoff this should feel like I am sleeping in. I did learn that Beam goes with scrambled eggs.

Hey, we’ve played well in early games so far. We’ve had some teams over the last 15 years who were still waay too hungover for a noon kickoff.

Damn Scorp, now I’m fired up! I just forearmed the filing cabinet by my desk. I haven’t put on a football helmet since 1978 but every time we say the Lord’s prayer in church I want to yell and go run through somebody.

Taking my daughter to her first UGA game for her 17th birthday (UGA v Ga Tek)…I was kinda hoping for a later kickoff. Oh well….best $300 ever spent…. (assuming I would actually pay more than face value) 🙂

Took my youngest to his first GA-GA Tech game on the Flats in 2009. We had a blast. It’s still his favorite game memory. Hope y’all have a similar experience.

I am surprised the GT game is on the SEC network. That has long been a network staple. Hmmm.

I am surprised the GT game decision is already made. Clemson/SC and FL/FSU games are not. If GT beats Clemson this weekend could the time change?

No, different networks control those games.

Or I should say different contracts

Right, home team’s conference contract rules the day.

No, our game times are now set. They won’t change after being announced.

Kind of surprising about the Tech game, but I presume they’ll have another ugly loss from Clemson before our game, But if both teams win out, that noon game will be a pretty attractive one.

We’ll have the most appearances on the SEC Network (Yeah for us in Texas!). Wonder if we get a larger cut?

I am betting the SEC is a down to it’s toes socialist organization, equal shares for all! (just like the NFL)
Unless they are talking about players unions…then it’s a different story 😉

Which will be Andre Ware and Dave Niel? I remember Neil doing games on JP sports or whatever it was before then, before ESPN. He’s never gonna make the big time. Don’t really care for Andre Ware.

I’ve gone from dislike and disdain to “meh” about Andre Ware.
And I’m wondering who Carter Blackburn’s uncle is that got him a job. Pretty soon he’ll have to quit to start his freshman year of college.
