Injury shoe on the other foot?

While Georgia is getting back to full strength on offense, Auburn looks to have lost D’haquille Williams, one of its best receivers, for this Saturday’s game.

I have a hard time remembering what an injury advantage for Georgia feels like.

Is Mitchell good to go? He obviously tweaked his groin on the TD catch in the second quarter.

    • Looked that way, for sure. But Richt said yesterday he didn’t know anything about it.

      • Looked that way to me too. But if you would have asked me if I thought if we’d see Mitchell or Rumph catch a pass again I would have said no. It was a long road back for the two receivers. I really didn’t expect to Michael back. Wonder if we will see Mitchell in the red and black for 2015? I don’t recall Rumph’s status-been so long.

        • Agree. Didn’t expect to see Mitchell and still don’t expect to see Marshall again this season.

This year is it for Rumph, so we’ll see how long he can stay healthy, and how much he can help us. We know he can, but it’s ‘will he be able’? Michel was a pleasant surprise the other day. He gave us a real spark.

IMHO, Mitchell isn’t ready to play in the pros. He’s still developing as a college receiver and still has a ways to go in that regard. It’d be a mistake for him to come out. If we don’t see him next year, it’ll likely be for health reasons.

    • Was it just me or was I the only one who found it humorous that by the time the announcers got out of their own talking and noticed him gimpy that couldn’t figure out that it was a groin pull. Plain as day to see right when he came down with the catch.

Surprised he still stayed out there tho. Groin pulls are nasty and something you usually don’t play through.

Now if we could just get Auburn to “even up” the discipline suspensions (and dismissals), UGA would be favored by 35.

Didn’t Ky play without their nickel defender? I know Mizzou suspended one for ganja, but thought the week before our game Ky had a guy suspended in their secondary.

After the play, Mitchell was “helped” at the sideline and was later sitting crosslegged on the sideline with 4 oeople hovered over him. Cramp?

That was a nasty injury to Duke Williams – it looked exactly like the Keith Marshall play in Knoxville last year. Marshall threw him a hospital pass with the DB just waiting on him to blow him up in the flat. Murray did the same to K. Marshall last year.
