‘All southern men know how to win a NASCAR race and coach football.’

It’s kinda nice to hear the other side complaining about bad defense after a Georgia game, isn’t it?

  1. I’m not sure why this is such a big deal for Auburn fans all of a sudden after years of stinking on defense.

Seems like they would be used to this by now.

Also seems like maybe the offense should shoulder a bit of the blame after basking in all of the glory, right?

Hysterical that during the amalgam coach show yesterday they showed highlights of UGA players dropping passes, Auburn defenders making a few tackles and then abandoned that philosophy for showing highlights from last years game. Its great to know this yet was so bad they really couldn’t find anything redeeming and resorted to the 2013 matchup. Forever Auburn.

I love the comments. They just don’t understand the problem with going uptempo and 3 and out.

  4. where do you draw a line between ‘missed tackle’ and ‘broken tackle’. or does it solely depend on what color you’re wearing?

The tempo AU ran the offense, which wasn’t effective, combined with the inability to stop the run was the perfect storm for Bobo. That WarTigerPlainsman defense was gassed.

    Good.

This, as I understand it, is where Chizic and Malzahn went sideways four years ago. Chizic was unhappy with putting his defense back out on the field after the quick strike offense Malzahn was running with Scam. It seems to me that Gus is screwing himself now. The 2014 version looks lost , tentative and uncomfortable going slow or deliberate.

Defenses are catching up with Auburn’s smoke and mirrors false keys offense so their defense better step up sooner rather than later.

From what I’ve gathered on talk radio and from blogs if you “play man”, “blitz” and “adjust” and you’ll never, ever allow a point on defense….ever!

Man, that’s just coachin’ right there!

Best comment section ever. One guy claiming Johnson is a Bama “[implant,” whatever that means.

“I believe with all my heart, Ellis was an implant by the University of Alabama… You can’t tell me Ellis Johnson is that inept… Something is very strange.. I am telling you, I smell a rat…… “

No Nick Fairley to spear our QB in the back, no Dee Ford to target the side of his head = no real D in the barn.

Dirtiest hit I’ve ever seen and they didn’t even throw a flag. Thought Reggie was dead. As you can see they celebrate this shit at auburn.

I thought he was dead too. I vividly remember that an I remember that and after I saw ruled a fumble I yelled “they got the ball back and they killed him!” Vicious…

There’s a reason that kind of hit is illegal now. But aside from spearing, I don’t think it was back then.

Lowering the crown of your head to strike another player’s head has always been a penalty, it was just rarely called. This one was so blatant and intentional I thought we should have gotten the call. He fumbled only because he was unconscious. I would have thought that an attempted murder would draw a flag, but apparently not.

And for the Van Gorder fans…
“โ€ข Notre Dameโ€™s Defense: Prior to Saturday, Northwestern had managed to score 17, 17, 7, and 9 points in the course of a miserable four-game losing streak that left the Wildcats on the brink of bowl eligibility; they arrived in South Bend having yet to put up 400 yards of total offense in any game this season. Based on that track record, it might have come as a surprise that the Wildcats lit up the Fighting Irish for 43 points on 547 total yards in a wild, overtime upset โ€” but it wasnโ€™t to anyone whoโ€™s watched the Notre Dame defense in the same period. Northwestern is the fifth consecutive team to score at least 31 points on the Irish, which officially made it the most generous five-game stretch by any defense in Notre Dame history.”

Still like BVG for his contribution to UGA. Sorry if that upsets anyone. I’m pretty sure the players who were on our D at the time would have my back.

BVG got a little too big for his britches. imho.

I’m sure GSU would have wished they had passed…OMD. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Amen, he left us in a pickle during critical recruiting time because of his massive ego and throwing a tantrum . I suspect he has lost some of that swagger since he has fallen on his arse everywhere since he left Athens. Never understood how a guy gets the kind of love he gets after what he pulled. But he screams nicely (some are impressed by that) and figured out how to not screw up excellent talent for a few years while at UGA

“All southern men know how to win a NASCAR race and coach football.” Yep. You drive faster than the other drivers and you get your team to score more points than the other team. It ain’t complicated. ๐Ÿ™‚

I dunno. Even Uncle Roscoe, bless his toilet paper rollin heart, admits that after the Texans got through with Auburn he just did not see how Auburn could beat Georgia.

Uncle Roscoe do speak truth now and then when he off the Jack.
