sectionalum thinks Kirk Herbstreit should be penalized for pontificating lazily about everything. and excessive hair care product use.

I’m giving thanks today for, among other things, GTP. Kudos to the Senator for his always stellar work.

Herbie is unintentionally marginalizing himself better than someone else could do it intentionally.

  6. Whats in Herbstreit’s craw? It’s not like his employer hasn’t aided and abetted additional games at the end of the season… Does he really think schools in the SEC want to spend more weeks riding the horses for another big game in the face of potentially having to weather additional games on a playoff? I get not being happy about the new Status Quo…. But penalized? I don’t think he’s thought this through.

Ya have to understand that herbie moved from the rust belt to an sec state. He’s another in the very long line of northerners who moved south because they supposedly hated it where they came from. Then they promptly bitch about anything and everything in their new home.

      • I really think this is Herbstreit trying to shed the appearance of SEC bias… But this is ridiculous even by Herbstreit’s standards.

I think it’s simpler than that: his anOhioSt Buckeyes have a shot at the playoffs, IF the voters ignore that terrible loss to VT, and how shitty the Big 10ish has been all season.

  7. Rumor is that the Arch is now resplendent in Old Gold and White.
Oh my gosh. That is not what we need. A bunch of nerds caught on campus defacing The Arch and then pummeled about the face neck and shoulders and made to sweep the sidewalks there. Bad PR.

Lower case Georgia and UGA are just the beginning at the Tech blogs. Add dwags, leg humpers, THUGa, georgie. And they wonder why they’re lucky to get 5 comments.

I’ll admit it. I never have thought much of Jeff Long. When he fired Bobby Petrino I felt he did so to protect his own job (he’s the guy who hired Petrino then left him basically without supervision), not out of some sense of right and wrong. But since he has become the face of the “committee” he has exhibited a newfound sense of self-importance that is beyond the pale. That, plus his “explanations” concerning how the committee operates and how they decide the rankings, have convinced me that these people have no more gravitas than a group of adolescents who have managed to get the keys to a Ferrari. All we can do is hope these clowns don’t wreck it.

I’m not sure, nor do I care, how Long became the spokesperson for “The Committee”. However, my suspicion is that everybody else observed that Long was enchanted with the sound of his own voice, nobody else was dumb enough to take the job, Long took Stacey Osburn’s course on nonsensical public relations.

There actually are folks on this thing who might know something. It is unfortunate the spokesperson does not seem to be one of them.

uhhhh, on futha consideration, I suppose it is possible Long’s painful statements just reflect the deliberative process these folks go through. I wonder if discussion control is factored into the equation.

Joey is cute with that asstupid little blog. The Mizzou game will affect their ass-whuppin’ ? You need to brush up on “Why?”, son.

He says they will throw the ball and really put us down. You’ll get a couple completed, son, but that football is going to look like a June bug in a flock of hawks when the speed cuts loose in the secondary and “passing” the football will be determined by how well you eat it. Guess the secondary will just feast and raise their interception number.

The idiot has no faith in their ability to run the ball against us even though their running game is featured. WTF?

Joey has a game-saving idea when he says they will tackle Chubb before he makes big gains. He doesn’t say that the Bugs will stop him, just cut down on his 25-yders. Ok. Three 20-yders gets us there as quickly as two 25-yders and a 10-yder. Yep, all you have to do is limit his yds when he breaks the first tacklers. One helluva plan, kid. And that will force Mason to pass against their imperm…..their stalwart….their intecep….their sieve. Yep, Hutson’s passes will put us behind the 8 ball alright. Wonder if he knows Mason’s average against SEC opponents? Guess not.

They have a good punter, I’m sure. He wasn’t mentioned.

Herbsreit is doing nothing more than trying to convince the committee that Ohio State should go before UGA even if the Dawgs win out and beat #1 Bama in Atlanta. I am not so sure it will work, as everyone knows how weak their conference is. Everyone should pull for Bama to win the Iron Bowl, no doubt.

God help us if everything breaks the Dawgs way the next too weeks and Herbie is working the last game on ABC/ESPN and it’s a blowout.
