Have a Shane MacGowan Christmas!

I always bounce between my two favorite Christmas songs.  This year, you get the Pogues.

Enjoy the day, y’all.

  1. This is really the only Christmas song I like, with the possible exception of CeeLo Green’s version of “That’s What Christmas Means to Me”. The way the song hits the pipes after the first “the bells were ringing out on Christmas Day” makes me long for winter and a glass of Jamieson.

Also my favorite Christmas movie: “Die Hard”.

    • Couldn’t agree more, Irish. It also adds that little touch of bitter sweetness when it reminds me that Kirsty MacColl’s no longer with us.

Happy Holidays to you and yours, Senator.

Thanks, Barrister. Have a good one.

Happy Holidays, Senator. Thanks for the song and thanks for this blog–all year long. And to the rest of you out there in cyberspace, God Bless all of you! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!

  4. Senator can you recommend a Pogues album for us unfamiliars?
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays & Go Dawgs everyone!

  5. Copy that. The Pogues have some amazing stuff if you like Irish music. “If I Should Fall From the Grace of God” is a gem, and I want “Body of an American” played at my wake.
