    The Cine funk channel on youtube is absolutely awesome if you ever want to catch football game replays. They post every FSU game and quite a few others. Almost never takes more than an hour to watch the whole thing.

    I still love Chubb’s 31 yard TD while Louisville was still trying to get enough guys on the field for the play.

      Good hustle by the Louisville player coming in though. He came from the opposite sideline mid play and made it across the field to be really the last guy with a shot at tackling Chubb.

        Yeah, he was almost offside but since he wasn’t actually on the field at the snap, I guess it doesn’t count. Any yeah, he overran the play. 🙂

    Is it just me, or did the officiating seem exceptional last night? Other than missing a few false starts by the Cards they had their crap together. Why can’t we have that in the SEC? Get on it, Birmingham!

      We always get better officiating from non-SEC crews, imo. I did think we benefited from a couple of spots but the overall consistency was impressive. Something really needs to be done about the problems in this conference regarding officiating, and the supervisor’s apathy about the issues.

        Indeed.

        SEC officiating is possibly the worst of the P5 conferences. That is just embarrassing.

        This is something I notice even when watching games where I don’t care which team wins.

    As many bowl games are, last night’s wasn’t very crisp, but I’m pleased the Dawgs showed that they were the much more talented team. Even when the game was briefly tied, it felt like UGA was in complete control.

    Also, this replay is an order of magnitude better than the one ESPN3.

    Watching the game again and knowing how many yards Chubb ended up with, it really stood out to how many times we ran for very short gains. Below is Chubb’s run data gathered from ESPN’s play-by-play and sorted it in ascending order.

    -1, -1, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30, 31, 82

    17 runs out of 33 gained 3 yards or less. The longest three runs account for more than half (143yds) of the total. Does this speak well of our offensive line? I expected the production to be a lot more even considering how highly our rushing attack is ranked.

      Great observation, I have had that concern most of the year. The consistency and inability to control the line in running situations are glossed over by the haymakers we have landed. For instance, in the game against Mizzou, who had an excellent defensive front, Chubb had 38 carries and 142 yards, (I think) but was hit at, or behind, the LOS on 22 of those carries. Now he is incredible at yards after contact but when we need short yardage we often get stuffed for no gain. I am happy, and concerned, about having four of our OL starters back. We need to dominate more if we are going to live up to next year’s expectations. Hope that new OL coach and the new strength coach have some answers. Don’t get me wrong, we had our moments of great success but with the need to close games out you have to be able to block better and create some space, or not allow penetration against teams like Bama and Florida.

        This is also something that concerns me as well.

        It appears that the majority of our runs are < 2 yards, and that is overshadowed by the homeruns our star RBs manage to deliver.
