I’d like an 87 percent decline in games missed due to injury. Why didn’t we hire that guy, again?

Oh yes. Stanford, Michigan, and USCe are equivalent academic institutions. Right.

  3. Senator, Most of your loyal followers do appreciate that this a much classier site but you really can’t ignore the Gator running back having a bowl movement on the field after scoring against East Carolina. Nothing wrong with a little poop humor occasionally. We were all 5th graders once and it is da gatas http://us.search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=vmn&type=zg-search.startnow.com-1_0-zg-rp-rp&p=Fla+running+back+shits+himself

    • I don’t think he brought it up because our entire team did the same against the Gators this year.

In my world, I would have preferred each and every one of our players to actually crap their pants in Jacksonville rather than figuratively doing it.

Comes down to a simple choice, eh, Andy?

I crawled through a river of shit once, so I know the choice. I could have chosen to figuratively crap my pants and stay in prison under the care of Norton and Hadley but I wanted to hang out in Zihuatanejo instead. Physical poo is nothing compared to mental poo.

That’s hilarious! I missed that. I did see the Gator player compare a bowling pin to his wiener during the game. They were talking about the pre-bowl festivities including a bowling tournament, which the Gators won. One of the players was standing there with his bowling pin trophy when he held it out front of his crotch. I thought it was hilarious (yeah, I’m big on potty humor) but really surprised ESPN didn’t edit it out, as it was a canned spot.

Also, loved the sweet little female ECU fan flipping off the Gators at the end of the game. Just class all around. 🙂

Glad Chavis went to A&M. I’d hate to see him at Sackerlina.

If Chad Kelly plays a down at Ole Miss, that’ll go a long way to letting us know Hugh Freeze is willing to do to put players on the field. That kid isn’t just immature; he’s also pretty stupid.

As for John Chavis, I wonder what his defenses will look like alongside an up-tempo offense like Sumlin runs; it might not be as great as everyone thinks.

Man if we could have got Chavis instead of Grantham we’d have gotten us a crystal football in 2012. Son of a bitch.

That’s what keeping Willie after giving up 26 a game will do. Richt wanted to keep grantham after 29 per game.

I never got that Richt wanted to keep Grantham. TG was communicated directly by our AD who gave him raises. McG also used him as a stalking horse to threaten Richt’s job; then he used Richt to threaten Grantham’s job when the collusion with TG wasn’t going to work anymore.

Have to keep in mind where the program was at the time. Richt was one bad season away from being fired. No way an established DC like Chavis was going to take that risk.

      • Yes that does make sense considering Chavis is leaving LSU because of the same uncertainties that haunted UGA at the time.

You’ll be able to tell the difference in the program’s stability this year compared to ’09…guys will not just be lining up to use the opening for a raise…in fairness, UGA helped push the market for DC’s higher that offseason by getting everyone raises…maybe that’s why Muschamp was so good to us most of those years.

The weird part about the LSU offense is look at all the NFL talent that it keeps producing and yet they dont score a ton of points.

Landry, Beckham, Mett, Hill, and Alfred Blue all played @ LSU last season. They should have been scoring 50points per game.

A cautionary tale given our current search for an OC, though I do trust Richt with the offense.

Phan if you think about it it’s not that different from all the defensive players we’ve sent to the NFL from our porous defenses.

  8. Mr CW outdid himself on the cliche-ometer. 1) Bama ain’t goin’ nowhere – check, 2) Muschamp will completely reinvigorate the Barn defense – check 3)Nobody wants to play Arkansas (the meme since mid October), check and 4) Recruitin’ is gonna be great, so watch out!, check. He should change his moniker to “Mr. Mail it in.”

“is it not reasonable to believe that the SEC champion will be in playoff contention, indeed title contention, almost every year?”

Tony Bagels is on the perimeter in the Palookaville that is the SEC West because somebody has to be on that wall and who else, other than Finebaum, wants to do it

    1. Turley prefers to play for a reasonable HC, not a prick like Harbag, others are turning down Harbag too.
    2. Chavis to Tex A/M, not surprising considering the way Miles has gone south with his offense, puts too much pressure on the defense. Chavis will be fired in one year if he doesn’t produce, it’s K Sumlin after all, Captain KneeJerk, so boneheaded move by Chavis overall.
    3. Get a laugh every time I see another way Spurrier tries to spin his positive impact on SC, bottom line, ZERO rings, and that had a horrific season.
    4. Can’t stand Tony Barnyard. He’s an arrogant guy who really knows nothing about college football, just for kicks, look at his preseason picks.

  10. We could have hired Shannon Turley, and instead hired a guy with no formal education or certifications in this area? He just backed up some guys at Alabama? WTF 😦

Shannon Turley: “Turley earned his bachelor’s degree in the science of human nutrition, foods, and exercise from Virginia Tech in 2000, while also earning a minor in chemistry. During his stint with the Hokies, Turley served as president of the Exercise Science Student Organization and began his career in strength and conditioning as a volunteer student assistant following a brief track and field career. He continued his education at Missouri where he earned a master’s degree in education and counseling psychology with a concentration in sports psychology.”

Since Turley joined the Cardinal program, Stanford has seen an 87% decline in games missed due to injury by its football players. In 2006 Stanford suffered 26 injuries that required season-ending or post-season surgery compared to a total of 24 during the last five years combined. http://www2.keiser.com/en/news/NSCA_Honors_Turley

This is exactly what I feared with the S&C hire – we’d cheap out and not get someone with solid education foundation backed up by continuing education and cerftifications. 😦

    • MY GOD the more I think about this the more angry I get.

We hired a guy who has never run a S&C program. He has a friggin bachelor’s in BUSINESS (eye roll) and no other high end sports related certifications.

We hired that untested random over a guy with tons more experience, real degrees, continuing education, national awards for reduced injuries, etc, etc. Plus, Stanford’s offensive and defensive lines are well known for being beefake.

My god, we choked this hire so bad. ARGH!!!!!! 😦
