Since its next semester doesn’t start until Monday, Ohio State isn’t bound by the NCAA’s 20-hour rule in preparing for the national title game. Oregon is.
That seems fair.

“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23

Way to go, NCAA. Make sure Oregon’s players are FOCUSED on syllabus review week.
What a joke.

I used to think that Tiny Tears, the GPOOE, was a demon imp spawned by the WWL but I see that Corch Dickhead is truly its Golem. He was anointed as the feel good comeback story somewhere around week 8 and the script has been written in his favor each week since then. Wally Butts and Bear Bryant once got slandered by the media. Now certain coaches and programs are pure media creations. All hail ESPN and its lickspittle lapdog the NCAA!

I feel sorry for his family. He wanted to spend time with them and now he’s having to work all the way into the second week of January.
Or maybe they all got sick of each other during his one year off.

Oregon had a couple games under it’s belt before classes started in the fall, which wasn’t exactly fair to Michigan State, either. I don’t like it, but it’s a serious can a worms to open if someone took this one on. Perhaps it would be as easy as writing a rule “20-hour” applies to all participants in the playoff…but I doubt it.

How about 20 hours whether classes have begun or not? Why would that be difficult?

Sounds simple enough, but I think the problem would come in getting everyone to agree to it.

20 hours is plenty with the coaches. Players can watch a lot of film on their own. I doubt there is a real difference in how much either team is preparing.
