If somebody had told you on January 26, 2014, that one year later, Nick Chubb would be getting a ton of Heisman talk and Jacob Coker not so much, you’d have laughed, right?
Just another reason it’s usually smart to take the media’s breathlessness with a grain of salt.
A&M and Georgia last September come to mind…

Driskel is the man to beat for the 2015 Heisman! You can take that to the bank 🙂

I spec Coker might have some ideas about this…. Frankly, bringing in an upperclassman quarterback this late in the development cycle indicated a blip in the process to me. There was no reported interest in Coker from, say, Georgia was there?

Or the media making Leonard Fournette as the 2nd coming of Herschel Walker/Bo Jackson…..

Naw! I’ve been telling anyone who would listen about Chubb since before his senior year of high school. He had the talent, work ethic, intelligence and family to take him as far as he wanted to go, IMO. All that said…he still managed to blow me away this past year.

I have only heard great things about Chubb. I just hope he does not buy the hype from the media and fellow students. I know of a lot of players at a lot of programs that ‘got a big head” because every time they went to get a pizza or attend a class 5 people told them they were unstoppable.
I believe this is a concern with any college athlete. Even one as levelheaded as Chubb.
