ESPN has never had anyone as talented as Olbermann. Regardless of what you think of his politics, there is no denying his God-given talent for writing or on-camera command. Unfortunately, he is absolutely batshit crazy. I worry its all not going to end well for him.

Early signing date my ass…we barely got time to check gun registrations now.

Wouldn’t the NCAA allowing staff other than the 10 on-field coaches to recruit off campus help relieve some of the stress on coaches during the season? That might make an earlier signing date more palatable.

Oh, after Craig James and a thousand dead hookers, ESPN punishes Keith Olberman for being right.

The didn’t punish him for his on-air commentary. They punished him for his completely unhinged display on twitter afterward.

OooooooK. Unhinged is, of course, a value judgement….guy’s pissed at Penn State for reasons that everybody should be pissed at Penn State about. At least he did not suborn murder or get a coach fired cause his kid got his feelings hurt or any of a number of other heinous activities. He just said what he felt and thought. I hope his helicopter did not get shot down.

No, unhinged (at least as I used it in this specific instance) is emphatically not a value judgment. You could say it is an opinion, and you’d be right, but I believe it is one which would be quite broadly held by those who read his tweets.

Did you see the tweets in question? He wasn’t furthering the point he made on air. He was (in a quite unhinged fashion) belittling anything and anyone who ever had been within 100 miles of the university in its entire history. You know…because Penn State.

Which is really strange because Heed’s past behavior showed that he was only partially unhinged

Keith O Is the biggest ass in sports. He, in fact, is probably the worst person in the world. I can’t think of anyone I despise more in all of TV broadcasting across all genres.

I can’t think of anyone that I was more surprised to find out had a show on espn.

Paying Granny and Olber says all you need to know about ESPN standards. They were great when the network first began but they pretty much stuff anything they want down the audience’s throat. There has to be a sports alternative on the horizon that will take them down, I still watch them for live CFB games and the few major golf events they carry but that is it.

Mason is going to serve as his own DC this year? Looks like they’re firmly back in the sec cellar.
