“Eyes up, G’s up.”

Man, they’re really pushing the atmosphere of winter workouts hard this preseason, aren’t they?

I guess Hocke has some folks at Butts-Mehre fired up.  Let’s hope he’s just as good connecting with the players.

When I see this I’m reminded that these are our football players (full time students) working hard at 6:00 AM this morning. This morning, while I was still just waking up and wanting my first cup of coffee, they had a strength coach yelling at them “eyes up, Gs up”.

And we wonder why coach couldn’t get them up to play UF in November.

You can yell stupid motivational stuff at someone only so much before they won’t hear it anymore. The constant training’s got to be a grind for these kids.

This stuff is produced for us more than them, and – with no game until September – I’ll gladly take it. And the Friday Night Lights song clinches it – we can’t lose!

I think it is for us, and it does also help recruiting. If you are a prospective player that sees an image that inspires you… It can only help the program.

I’ll go ahead and get it out of the way. There’s a new attitude around the program, everyone is buying into what the coaches are saying, everyone is participating in the off season workouts, there is a new focus, we’re seeing a lot of leadership from the seniors, this year is going to be different.

I can’t wait for the slick, slow motion videos to show up with the powerful music showing workouts and practices.

I don’t think a lot of fans really understand how much time players put in to the game. Especially in the off season. I need to keep that in mind when I’m yelling at a player for mucking up a play and I’m sitting in my favorite leather chair, sipping my favorite cocktail and watching them play on Saturday afternoons on my big screen.

most people would tell you that a football player has never worked for anything. They were born that way and just got lucky.

      Yeah, this exactly.

That’s what I thought the first comment was getting at and then it went sideways

x2. Some people are so busy trying to argue against someone else’s point, they miss the point all together. I guess it gives the appearance of superior intelligence or something like that.

..and those boys at Butts-Mehre should know that’s an incorrect use of an apostrophe. #FinishEnglish101
