2015 SEC Media Days schedule

It’s out.  Richt appears on the last day, sandwiched between Miles and Freeze.

I wonder who picks up the check when they go out for drinks afterwards.

Seriously, I’ll be curious to see what this year’s burning issue is.  There’s no telling.  In fact, it may not even exist yet.

Does Mark Richt take a drink?

Looking at his roster I’d say the first guy at the bar is Spurrier. Is this his last year? I think maybe so.

It isn’t going to be pretty in Columbia this year. Another year will have passed, recruiting wasn’t good this past year and won’t be any easier if they take the expected dip in winning again. Lost momentum, players bolting, and an ageing coach doesn’t bode well. When do you make the change if you are their AD, and/or if your coach is ready for the pasture? Seems like a good time. Ba-bye….

Most ranking services have SCAR right around 20th on recruiting class this year. I know a lot of players bailed but we lost to a team in 2011 that recruits mostly 3 star players and consistently ranks much lower than SCAR. I want to drink the Kool-Aid but I just can’t rest easy until I see the effects on the score board. I’m not ready to count SOS out just yet but it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling thinking that he is squirming.

Something to do with student athletes has to be the burning issue…maybe the stipend that starts next year and how it’s calculated. Because if every school is left on its own to figure out a number you know the usual suspects are going to game the system. This is my guess.

It begins with “one-buck upmanship” between schools until someone realizes a wildfire was started by paying the players. Then and only then will someone see that a nightmare has been created that has to be solved from above by the people who are clinging to the money. After that It will continue into the slimeball region of “Wink, wink; we will give you more money under the table if you come here to play.”.

A more burning question to us is: Who are the players to be selected to attend Media Days this year?

Apologies for thread shift, but tragedy has struck “Limpy”, the rooster, so named because the other two roosters damaged his wheels. He remained away from the maddening crowd except to feed on a few paltry grains left from the other two feeding free-range roosters and two hens plus the free-loading wild birds (who have 6 other feeders that are kept filled, but still insist on chicken’s grain). A pile of feathers and a winsome memory is all that now remains (I knew it was only a matter of time). The good feeling we can get is the healthy fledgling juvenile hawks cruising the wilds thanks to “Limpy”.

A rooster serenaded his passing outside the kitchen windows early this morning.
