“I was very involved defensively at Florida and regardless of popular opinion I wasn’t as much on offense,” Muschamp said with a chuckle. “Should have been, but I wasn’t.”
No shit, Sherlock.
In fact, since Tebow’s departure, the Gators have had just two individual 300-yard passing performances in the last five years. Brantley threw for 329 yards against Furman in 2011, and Tyler Murphy threw for 305 yards in a home loss to Vanderbilt in 2013.
If you’re Georgia Tech, that’s no big deal. But for a team that runs a traditional offense – you know, the kind with quarterbacks who throw the ball to receivers – that’s amazing. And for a program that cut its teeth bringing the passing game to the SEC, that’s pathetic.
Part of me thinks Florida will bounce back this season better than I tend to give it credit for, simply because there’s no way McElwain can be as inept putting together an offense as Boom was.
(P.S. To save some of you astute observers the trouble, yes, I know, 38-20. Thanks.)
Actually, I disagree with you on the “bounceback” theory Senator. FU doesn’t have the players, particularly in the OL. FU is still a year or 2 away no matter what McElwain does IMHO.

How many 300 yard games dos Mason have last year..?

Mason had two career games of 300+ yards passing.
Aaron Murray had eleven.
You can put your crayon back in the box now.

Florida scares the shit out me even when they are down. I guess it is all those years of getting pounded by them. Even in the recent years when we should have beat the hell out of them, we barely won. I was at the ’68 game as a kid. 51-0 sounds good to me.

Rain? Rain? Did it rain? Not on my side of the field there. I basked in the glorious sunshine of the humiliated Gators.

I call it the monsoon game and we beat them in our tennis shoes, thanks to Dooley. What I enjoyed most was Kirby Moore (?) short passing for hugh gains and he could only throw the ball about 10 yds with any accuracy. FU was so flatfooted that they splashed when they ran whereas our favorite safety had saved up for this rainy day and looked like a 12 meter yacht. That was the emptiest side of the FU field ever seen with their fans countable on two hands.

Most analysts thought the high point of Agent Boom’s mission was his destruction of the offense by enhanced interrogation of his hand-picked offensive coordinators. Sure, it had no effect on Charlie the Tuna because of his decided schematic advantage to destroy everything on his own but it cTop Gun or Mr. Roper

Hopefully, their D will suffer in boom’s absence. I don’t expect their O to make major advances, but they’ve got nowhere to go but up.

So with three OCs in three years, and virtually all the shortfall of those teams blamed on the offense, Boom never got it that he was the HC, in charge of all aspects? What exactly did you do with your time to get paid almost $15MM? Damn Bro, I don’t think I would’ve said that.

Why the heck not? After all, he essentially failed forward and, in the process, received a golden parachute for his efforts (or lack thereof). After all, UF has to pay him his full salary for the next 3-4 years, plus he’s now making 1.8 mil or whatever at AU as well.
So, he basically got around a 2 mil yearly raise, coupled with a drastic decrease in responsibilities and overall stress as a DC instead of HC. He’s probably feeling on top of the world right now, as crazy as that might seem.

Any way boom ever gets another HC gig?

If you are aware of 38-20 then why do you still post articles relating to the Gator’s shortcomings? And what does that say about the Dawgs? Even with all of the Gator eniptude one could possibly imagine, the team in complete turmoil, coaches packing their bags, they still beat the living sh?t out of the Dawgs. Who is the pot and who is the kettle here exactly? Oh well, yet another example of wasting talent and pissing away opportunities. But hey, maybe all of those new coaches/admin assistants will actually coach this team up and relieve Richt of that stress. I am sure it hard to find motivation to play Florida, Tech AND Carolina. That’s a lot to ask of a head coach.

How’s he wasting his time? He said what he wanted to say.
Tell me something – is there something inaccurate about the post itself?
If you guys want a Georgia blog that is all suck, all the time, there’s a pretty obvious solution for that. I’ll even post a link once you get started. Thomas Brown could use the competition. 😉

Can I just say this is one of the stupidest criticisms of my postings that I see from commenters here?
What you seem to be saying is that if I blog from the perspective of being a fan of a college team – not a player or a coach, mind you, just a blogger – I’m prohibited from posting anything about a team my school lost to that isn’t complimentary. So I guess only bloggers who write as fans of a school that went undefeated can fully unleash the hounds. Would I be safe from your complaint if I stopped blogging as a Georgia fan and just wrote about college football in general?
And how long does the rule last, anyway? Is it a year to year thing? How does that whole 3-18 history fit in to your grand scheme of things?
Feel free to whine about a disappointing loss. Just don’t be so silly about it.

Yeah, Senator, Spurrier gets the credit, but Charlie Pell is the one who actually made passing big in the SEC.

I wasn’t referring to you Senator. I was referring to the comment made by Skeptic Dawg. What he said was absolutely the truth but why waste one’s time trying to convince hopeless Richt fans? Don’t let your ass eat up the seat of your britches. You are a touchy type.
