Here’s a nice story about Jake Ganus going from the mess at UAB to a little slice of heaven in Athens.
But the main reason I’m posting this is that I’ve been dying for an excuse to use the header. Now I can cross another item off my bucket list.

Think this guy is going to work out even if he doesn’t see a lot of time on the field. No sense of entitlement, willing to work hard, and very happy to be here. You can’t coach that kind of attitude and he will have an effect on his teammates.

Nice story. I hope he see’s the field enough to have some good playing memories wearing the G. Feels a little like ‘Rudy’.

He obviously has talent enough along with the moxie to make it work. His intelligence will see him through and with the mutual attraction, UGA is getting no charity case, on or off the field. Hope he’s put in position to bring it this Fall and gets his life back into gear. He’s getting bigger, eh?

It would not surprise me at all if Ganus ends up as a starter.

It’s the last line from the movie Chinatown. A not so subtle way of saying that some places can’t be explained…only excused. Or something like that. It’s a fun adaptation from “Forget it, Jake…it’s Chinatown”. The irony is that it’s kind of a racial slur that wouldn’t be tolerated in today’s PC social environment..(ie “forget it Dog, it’s Harlem”, would be painted as a racist comment).Silly though that may seem to some of us. Offending a State with millions of citizens doesn’t matter as long as it’s not the one you or I live in.
I’m not a PC type of guy…so forget it, Gurka, it’s GTP.
BTW..this one’s a hanging curve for DIF.

We in the great State Of Alabama DO take that header as a slur against us!! Prepare to defend yourselves in Court in the Great State of Alabama, bloggers! (Is that what they are called?)

Here’s a pretty good write up about the line.

Everyone reading this blog needs to click on the link above. So true. A metaphor for the ’60s and early ’70s.

Oh man, how could I forget that. What a dark movie. The triumph of evil.
