“... Shoot, why does anybody who’s ever won something do it again? Because it’s cool. So, let’s go do it again. Let’s see if we’ve got what it takes.” -- Stetson Bennett, The Athletic, 3/22/22
Considering Boom’s maturity level seems a bit lacking sometimes he may not be the best judge.

+1 Boom is definitely a “late boomer” when it comes to maturity. He and Trigga have a lot in common in that department. Those defending the Trigga’s and Shaq’s of the world ignore how many chances they had before being shown the door. I can get over the guys who had one miscue, like Marshall and Mettenberger, but the continual problem children and their attitude issues will not get my support whether wearing red and black or not. Time for us to stop with the never ending forgiveness in this society. There are too many good kids doing things the right way to hope the thugs succeed, I will save my well wishes those who do things right or learn from their mistakes the first time.

How sweet is it gonna be this fall when Chubb completely bulldozes Matthews?

Almost as sweet as when he bulldozed Grantham’s D.

Honest question, why do so many of you take more pleasure in crapping on former Dawgs that left the program than the other guys out there? The vitriol towards Matthews, Shaq Wiggins yesterday, and others in the past is confusing. It seems like many of you, the Senator included, love to hate on these guys. I actually prefer to see them doing well and pull for them. I’ll join you in the hate for bums out there like Da’Rick Rodgers, Cam Newton, Fairley, etc, but if I tune into an Auburn game I hope to see Tray doing well. Same with a Louisville game and the ex-Dawgs up there. I pulled for Mettenburger and Nick Marshall after they left as well.

And by the way, if our program had similar discipline rules as other programs (which most of us would prefer we had anyways) all of these guys would still be starting for the Dawgs. It’s not like they’re terrible assholes, they’re just the same type of dumb kids that every SEC program has.

My intent wasn’t to hate upon Matthews. It was simply to note how good a job they do at Auburn rehabilitating misguided souls.
When Gus gets tired of football, they ought to put him in charge of a prison, where he can really do some good.

To bad some of these guys don’t learn their lesson BEFORE they get kicked out of UGA. I hate losing good players to bad decisions. Part of the “rehabilitating misguided souls.” belongs to UGA. The reality of losing your chance at a quality university is an eye opener that serves them at the next university…some times that is. Some of them screw up their second chance.

Ahh, that makes sense. Gus does seem to have the magic touch to turn the troubled masses around. I guess the comments section from the earlier Shaq Wiggins post rubbed me the wrong way. Certainly, he had different issues that some of these other kids that get booted for smoking weed so maybe he deserves it. I seem to remember JHC getting hated on around here and he doesn’t deserve it, one boneheaded tip play aside.

Holy shit. Mathews is way more of a scumbag that D’rick Rodgers. Wow. How on earth could you want someone who left Georgia, who PLAYED for Georgia to succeed after they CHOSE a bitter rival.
I hope Mathews tears his knees and never plays football again, the traitorous thug.

…and in other news. We’ve talked about the ‘way-ward’ kids. I just viewed the interview with L. Carter on Dawgs247. Talk about a class guy. He visited elementary schools during spring break to (in his words) ‘play with the kids. And he’s a beast too! I guess that makes him a classy beast. 🙂
