Here’s a little dose of irony for you: Todd Gurley’s suspension for violating NCAA amateurism rules may have the effect of increasing his professional value.
… One NFL scout told NFL.com Gurley is the best draft prospect at his position since Adrian Peterson.
The stats bear that out. Gurley averaged 6.4 yards per carry at Georgia over parts of three seasons. He also missed time because of a suspension for taking autograph money, but that means a lot of the usual wear on college rushers won’t affect him as much.
I bet that doesn’t feel right to some. Maybe the Georgia legislature ought to pass a law about that.
Get The Picture 
I just hope we do not wear Chubb down to a nub during his career at UGA. So he can have a good pro-career, he is a good kid and deserves his chance.

Why would we? We have enormous talent at that position and Richt has had a philosophy of utilizing multiple tailbacks in games ever since the Musa days. The only times we have ridden a solitary RB to anywhere near excess is when we simply don’t have available talent to share the load.
Gurley’s value in the NFL is only questionable because of the ACL tear. He will certainly work hard to prepare himself but there is no way to assess the damage done, some guys never get it back. I hope both parts of Gurshall rebound in 2015.

When I and others opined at the time of Gurley’s suspension that he should sit out the remainder of the season on his own volition, as it would be of great benefit to him in regard to the upcoming draft, we were called pretty much every name in the book, including telling us to go a certain thing that most would deem a physical impossibility.
Soon after various respected NFL media types like Chris Mortensen reported that NFL GM’s were all telling him the same thing—Gurley should voluntarily not return regardless of the suspension length, and start preparing for draft instead, in which he’d be a sure-fire top 10 pick. Unfortunately now Gurley is a big question mark with the knee injury, though apparently he’ll in all likelihood go somewhere in the late first round.
Though I’m not a Pats fan in the slightest, I’d love to see him end up at a well run organization like them, instead of at a dumpster fire like Cleveland (who apparently is interested in him).

Or stuck in the Falcons’ organization. Like you, I hope he gets the luck of the draw in this month’s draft. So many futures are determined by where a young player is “assigned”.

I know I’m probably the only fan here of this team but, one team that wasn’t mentioned in the article that needs an RB is the Jags. I know they won’t take him at the #3 spot but if they trade back, I’d love to see them take him. If he falls out of the first which, I don’t think will happen, and he’s on the board when their 2nd round pick is up, they have to take him.

Gurley is a threat to take it to the house whenever he touches the ball. Sure, there’s the injury, but show me anyone else in the draft who’s a ‘sure thing’. A lot of teams are going to rue the decision to pass on Gurley. But like other Dawg fans, I hope he lands with a good organization.
