Here’s a piece on Prokick Australia academy, where Aussie football players prepare for life as US college football punters.
The most interesting part of it is how much emphasis is placed on the value of an American education, by both the coaches there and the players training there, over an professional prospects. Who’da thunk amateurism’s last refuge would be in Melbourne, Australia?
I’m waiting to see how jcdawg will manage to twist this one into a diatribe against CMR.

Richt doesn’t have to go to Down Under to find those Aussies. Some of those Aussies are already in Atlanta and play in an ex-pat Aussies rules league up on the polo fields just north of Atlanta. Those guys can put a football anywhere they want…

I talked about this a while back. That guy Chapman will only send over guys he knows can make it. CMR needs to make a call and get one on a plane before August.

We are in negotiations. We will add the Down Under Way to the Georgia Way. A dynamic combo! 🏈

There’s absolutely no reason for UGA to go out of state, let alone out of country, to get a punter. No doubt we’d have 5 or more punters on the roster if we’d give them entry to UGA via preferred walk-on status, and let the Hope scholarship pay their way.
I still believe Barber could do a good job, IF:
1) He’s not injured, and
2) We don’t screw with his head.

Saw it posted somewhere he is feeling better and punting great. A back injury needs rest and continuing to punt kept it injured.
