Check out this chart of what the top defensive coordinators are being paid this season:
You may miss it at first glance, but South Carolina is paying its co-DCs as much money as Alabama is paying Kirby Smart.
I wonder which school will have the better return on investment in 2015.
Wow, was Grantham really worthy of a $425k raise for last yr? Also, didn’t know the Chizman was back at it.

Grantham leveraged a job interview with the Ray-dahs into a pay bump at Louisville.

Didn’t he pull that same shit with us?

That’s an interesting collection. Dave Wommack looks like the big bargain based on last year. D.J. Durkin hasn’t coached a down. Kirby Smart is still a proxy for Saban. Grantham still hasn’t proven he’s worth a big salary. Why is Baylor paying a defensive coordinator almost 900K?

I was thinking the same thing, but I guess when your offense is on the field for all of a minute and a half per drive you earn every penny.

Sorry, I’m referring to Baylor of course.

Defense for Spurrier is like the car dealer who has to have a service department to keep his Acura franchise…its there, but he don’t have time for that shit.

Man, da Chiz go from Auburn to UNC, and he thought he left the stinky stuff behind…at least he will know how to deal with probation…or the threat of it.

Hah! Never thought of it that way. Brilliant!
Next stop Ole Miss, where $$recruiting$$ is king.

It still blows my mind that Grantham was able to roll Louisville for $1.4 mil. Stunning.

Spurrier’s situation would be an excellent reason to name a HC in waiting. Unfortunately for him, he’s kind of painted himself into a corner w/ that presser and now it will be eating crow to take that approach.
I feel horrible about all of this. Just horrible.

I’m sure the old ball sack would be easy to work with as head coach in waiting (insert sarcasm here). I’m betting the chickens hire Spurrier, Jr as their next head coach. They are so invested in Spurrier, they will do anything to keep the name around.
South Carolina football has become like North Korea, it’s a cult of personality.

Yep, they’ll go the way of everything Spurrier for a while like Bama did with Bryant. Expect coaches and coach assistants with family and job ties to Spurrier for years after he leaves.

What’s sort of funny about that is; they really haven’t won anything that matters with him and being proud of being the “winningest coach in gamecock football history” is sort of like being the tallest pygmy.

Amazing what the Saban Brand does for DCs.

I never imagined how lucrative it would become to learn defense under Marion Campbell and Joe Kines.

I am surprised that no one else has pointed out that the two highest paid DCs are both Dawgs who played for Ray Goff.
