“We don’t even try to focus on the negative.”

This is a nice story about Georgia’s quiet offseason – “Georgia hasn’t registered a single point in the latest Fulmer Cup Standings…” – but I gotta tell you, if things blow up in the next month, I’m blaming Weiszer for the jinx.

    I hope this is an indicator that the team’s leaders have stepped up and are helping the coaches keep the team focused on the task at hand. Having guys like Jonas Jennings around these guys as a resource to lean on has to help as well.

    I didn’t think the Fulmer Cup was still a thing. Or at least the guys that started it don’t run it anymore. Became a bit of a drag to track some of the more heinous crimes. Surprised a newspaper would reference it.

      I think they (Fulmer Cup Officials) just threw up their hands per Vandy and declared it sodom and gomorrah and killed the award for that season. Meanwhile,Frankie moved on to Penn State where coaches and players are held to a higher standard. Nice fit.

    I think it is within the realm of possibility that our new president has explained to Chief Williamson that we don’t have time for this writing tickets for no license crap. We may have decided that getting these kids back to the dorm is more important than arresting them and maybe we’ve decided to quit drug testing right after a kid’s spring break. We don’t want to excuse bad behavior but we don’t need to be the players enemy either….. Protect and Service . God, I still hate Micheal Adams.

      Variables that have changed since previous off-seasons: 1) Jere Morehead, 2) Jonas Jennings, 3) Schotty, Sale, and T. Brown, and 4) Hocke. My guess is that it’s a good bit of 1) with a dose of 2-4) thrown in. Or maybe we’ll have 10 arrests in the next month. Who knows?

      Yea. I don’t think all of our players all of a sudden became Boy Scouts. It seems a little more common sense is being used in several areas. Thank God for Jere. He’s a DGD.

    I’ll bet we don’t hear from Herbstreit on this unless, of course, there’s a sudden reversal. A chance to deflect the negative attention away from Irving Myers and OSU and onto UGA would absolutely give Herbie the vapors.

    And if there’s truly a heightened degree of accountability among the Georgia players that we’ve not seen in a while, then that alone would seem to qualify this offseason as a big success.

    So Johnson pushed through, working everywhere on the field, trying to find a spot where he could get through his disdain for contact.

    Speaking of Auburn, this from an article on ESPN about Jeremy Johnson. Seems the kid doesn’t like to be hit. Maybe we can treat him like we did all those Bama QB’s in ’03.
