Major transfer news!

Richt says there’s “a decent chance” the quarterback competition will be reduced to a two-horse race after tomorrow’s scrimmage.

I just wanted you to be prepared.

What a soap opera. Let the transfers begin.

QB situation’s about to get real.

Yahoo, does this mean Sam Vaughn finally gets his shot?

Getting it down to two would be pretty telling. Bauta stands out as a “different” kind of QB. If he is eliminated, we know his throwing just can’t get it done. If he survives, then the pro-typical third stringer is screwed. Sounds like Lambert has been performing better as of late, so there really is no way to tell how this thing goes.

I understand the need to narrow the focus and increase the reps but I honestly cannot tell who is first or third from practice reports on multiple sights. Not sure if that is a good, or bad thing, but I feel comfortable that we will be competent at QB. Spectacular would be better, but reality suggests with no clear separation of any one guy by this point, we should be thankful the total offense may well be enough given the surrounding cast. Mason was good enough last year if the run defense hadn’t collapsed, we will be pretty good on offense, imo.

To select the odds on the two deep at QB today would truly be gambling on a SWAG because it has been really kept under wraps. Have no connection to any of them, nor inside knowledge, but I had wanted Bauta to end up the guy because of the many reports on work ethic and team support. For some reason I am just not feeling confident about him and will support the coach’s decision. It seems each of them has an area of strength that makes them viable. I mean, we could be having the issues that Florida, LSU, SC, and Bama are having where not only is no one separating themselves, but the reports are no one can hit a receiver, long or short. The wisdom of “I once complained about my shoes until I met a man with no feet” comes to mind here. Two weeks and counting boys and girls.

Does this mean someone is transferring or just that CMR has it down to two? I guess well wait until tomorrow..but we might be shocked at who transfers…a player’s disgruntledness could have been the reason all along that he couldn’t pull ahead of the other. I have nada inside info..just throwing something without religous connotation out there for a thought.

Scorp.. he is very talented and determined. He just wants a chance. And from what I hear from my sources Lambert is not doing well at all.

Which QB is the most devout?

Right after classes start. I know. I’m a genius. 🙂

It is time to at least name someone. They have to know where the QBs stand at this point. Somebody needs to be getting full time reps with the number ones to prepare for the season to start building chemistry as a unit. I don’t know who that person is yet but shouldn’t the professionals on our staff know? Lawd!

Just for the hell of it, this is my completely uninformed gut feeling (at least today):
    1. Lambert – big(ger) game experience trumps other intangibles
    2. Bauta – different dimension, will get some series particularly early on
    3. Ramsey – transfer looming
I honestly don’t give a shit because I think our O keeps on trucking at historical levels riding our line and backs… but why not sling some speculation!

OMG!! Like, that headline will generate a gazillion clicks!

  14. Then I’ll get on my knees and pray
    We don’t get fooled again

  15. john wingate

I feel very confident about the QB situation because the best man will win the starters job … so why worry?

  16. D as in Dawg

I predict some will praise the decision and some will lament it. But don’t quote me on that. I’m not entirely sure if I agree with what I said.
