Centered at center

If you’ve been concerned about the change at the center position, maybe this observation will help settle you down:

OL Brandon Kublanow

The 6-foot-2, 298-pound junior started preseason camp as the number one center and he has only tightened his grip since. According to fellow offensive linemen and coaches, Kublanow has picked up the system quickly and has earned the trust of those playing next to him. He also appears to have conquered the shotgun snapping issues that plagued him early in camp. Oh, and we’ve been hearing that he’s pretty physical and nasty in the trenches, too.

Eh, it couldn’t hurt.

  1. Center may be Kublanow’s more natural position. The only question is whether he can be the team leader Ben Jones and Boss Andrews were. I definitely feel better about center. Wynn seems to have done the same thing at left guard.

I was always under the impression that they recruited Kubs especially for the Center position. Glad he is taking over and doing a good job. We all saw what happened to the offense when Andrews went out against UF.

  3. I told y’all…all-SEC.

Great to see us in a position where we are not shuffling linemen across positions within our starting six during fall camp.

I understand we still have a few in our second six needing to make up ground in their technique to keep it this way. It has been a focus for Coach Sale.

All I know is kubs did not hold Aganist sc. he just ground his man into the ground. I like his nasty side. Hope it rubs off on th other lineman.
