Grumble, grumble: ” I’ve been a bit dismayed that the Heisman now goes to best spread quarterback in college football. That’s who wins it almost every year.”
Okay, so maybe I was a little surprised he accepted the premise of Ohio State as the number one team in the country without quibbling. Of course, he could be just biding his time with that.
I’m shocked that Herbstreit would pick an OSU defensive player for Heisman….

That’s only because they haven’t announceed a starter at QB yet, and he had to pick somebody ( from OSU of course) . I’m surprised he didn’t say ” whoever gets the most snaps for the Buckeyes”.

Not a fan of Danielson but that sounds about right for the Heisman .

Heisman is a joke now. The NYAC has lost the whole concept of what the award was suppose to be. ESPN just took it away from them. Originally it was meant to be for the college player that was the best and contributed the most to his team. Now with the spread as Danielson pointed out, the stats have taken over. The only way a running back gets it is if he is a record breaker on a playoff caliber team. Even a record breaking RB on a so so team is doomed. The rest of the players are out of it. No WR will ever win it again nor will a defender.
