“Those 13 jerseys are going to be around a long time.”-- Brock Bowers, The Athletic, 1/10/23
He sure looked old last night, limping around like he needed two hips replaced. I hope we aged him another 10 years last night.

That headset throw left a lot to be desired. Well, the kicker had a good game…

I think the post game presser was even more enjoyable.

Spurrier seemed resigned that his team is sorry during his post game comments. “We’ve got to find some guys who can cover and tackle.” What’s he been doing?

Nah, I’ll go with Eric’s “Golfing and drinking beer” response. He is letting his assistant coaches deal with his comments about quitting.

Even if you are not a golf fan, if you have the golf channel check out David Feherty’s interview with SOS this Wednesday at 9:00 pm. This are usually pretty good and can only imagine what quotes he’ll dig out of Spurrier.

Not to disappoint, but that image is not from last night. You can see a SCarolina player or two in the background wearing maroon jerseys.

That’s fine! It’s just not fodder for holiday greetings, as some were indicating. That should be saved for watching him squint at the stat sheet when he reads we only had 4 3rd downs all game. 🙂

That post game presser was gold. It will go down with the two state troopers fist bumping, and the thrown headset as some of my favorite Spurrier schadenfreude. Just for fun, pull up the footage of his tribute to himself during SC’s spring game and the. Watch that post game presser. Epic I tell ya. Did y’all catch the shot of Spurrier right after the squib kick was run into the end zone and he didn’t know it wasn’t going to be yet another UGA touchdown yet? Maybe best of all time. He looked totally lost and In utter disbelief as how he was getting his ass whipped so handily. It was great stuff.

Probably my favorite Richt moment ever. To bad the refs had to spoil it.

While the Gators are the team I most hope UGA beats, Spurrier is clearly the coach I most like to see on the losing sideline. Yesterday, (though I didn’t see it live and had to DVR it) was so sweet because it was SOS that got pounded and had to admit that his team wasn’t as good. He hates that and it is sweet to hear.

I’m watching The Steve Spurrier Show. The host says: “no first half punts from any of the first three opponents this year.” Spurrier: “yeah, that’s got to be some kinda record. If they force a punt in the first half vs. central Florida I hope our fans will give ’em a standing ovation.”

I can’t stand the guy, but he does make me laugh.

I was going to say the same. When he retires, I hope he does at least one year of TV commentary. I’d actually watch the SECN if he was on it.

I’m as disappointed as anyone that we didn’t see the visor or headset thrown, but what we saw may have been even better. A defeated a broken old man.

True. He throws his visor/headset when he sees a blown opportunity. Last night there wasn’t even a glimmer of hope.

Why does he wince so hard there? Was the cord still attached or something?

I enjoyed hearing the students start the chant “throw the visor” in the fourth quarter.
I think he hangs around SC until he get 100 wins, might take 2 or 3 seasons. He’s got a big enough ego that he wants that record of being the only coach to win 100 at two programs.
He does look like he’s miserable though.

I’m watching the Eagles look like total shit right now. Even the announcers called out the offense on lack of effort. Sure hope we’re not watching Nunez running Chip Kelley’s O a year from now. We need Spurrier to stick around a couple of more years. Sorry for such a buzz kill of a thought.

All the spread proponents keep saying chip Kelly is going to take over the nfl. I’m waiting…

I might be missing something, but I just didn’t see anything in that offense that even hinted at anything other than your standard vanilla NFL style attack. What happened to the spread option?

No doubt SOS should join Mark May on ESPN to discuss the games on Sunday morning.
What you think Jeff Schultz at the AJC has to say about Dawgs passing game now. Or even Tech.
One think to be critical of the Dawg QB, but to compare it to Tech is shameful.
When that game comes around I hope it will be like someone putting fire to a paper wasp nest.
The coach I want CMR and company beat is Butch Jones at UT.

What do YOU have to say about the Dawgs’ passing game now? I seem to remember you being the king of the Eeyore Dawgs like 72 hours ago.

Sept. 13, 2:04 p.m., Mr. Will Trane said:
“The playbook. It is fully open. Do not think the offense is under wraps and it can rely on a running game. The running game is there to a point…it has limits. The running game can not be fully exploited and the playbook can not be fully utilized is because of one position. As k the running backs and receivers what the limitation is. Probably to a player say the QB. The QB play is the big issue now. His play causes all the gaps to get filled along the LOS. The starting QB does not show enough passing skills, confidence, running ability to open the play book. It is my understanding the offensive coaches had to assure him he would be able to walk into the end zone on his run. But even there it looked like he had a piano tied to his ass. Do you think he can stretch the field [length or width]. Big difference in a Ramsey roll out re speed and getting ball out plus length of throw.
Ramsey comes in and hits 2-4. In fact Mitchell should have caught the ball to him. Then he is gone for the game.
Consolation. No team in East has a legit SEC QB…UT is closer than others.”

To call Will Trane “king of the naysayers”, one must certainly have forgotten “Mr ramsey”, aka chilidawg, and his blind allegiance regarding his son’s playing time (or lack there of).

I don’t know that he can stand to hang around long enough to get 100wins. I know his ego is oversized but he will have to endure a lot more losing to make it to 100 at SC because I don’t think they are going to get a lot better. It may be his ego that keeps him from getting to 100 there.
