Just another day at the office

So, which of these three seemed the most improbable before yesterday’s action went down?

  • Georgia obliterates South Carolina in a game in which it only had one sack and didn’t win the turnover margin battle;
  • Greyson Lambert sets a new NCAA record for completion percentage; or
  • Alabama will come into Athens in a couple of weeks as the more desperate team.

  1. #2 was the biggest shocker. His protection helped, but Lambert was making throws I didn’t think he was capable of. That pass to Jay Rome by the goal line was perfect.

How about how Richt and company totally schooled the ol’ Ball Sack and his staff? Yeah, we have a lot more talent, but who saw Richt and company flinging the ball all over the place, mixing run and pass, pooch kicking after scoring 52 points? Just totally dominated them.

That pooch kick was just a live drill, I bet. I mean, we had nothing to lose, so let’s see our guys get some scrimmage time in with live action.

I think that’s the best part of last night that we got to treat it like we wanted to treat ULM.

In the post-game presser Richt mentioned the pooch kick was just a mistake by Morgan that bounced in their favor.

Georgia had a Lambertghini last week that they failed to advertise.

  4. I guess I would say #1. I thought we would win by a 10-14 point margin. The fact we did what we did without a ton of turnovers and sacks (although we got good pressure consistently) showed how much better we were than the Gamecocks across the board.

I think Ole Miss stole Gus’ Rabbit’s Foot, cause that 66 yd TD catch was worse than our tip vs Auburn.

  6. Fabulous night for Lambert and his coaches. On a related note, we may have found a new formation, Brice Ramsey as punter. It’s not a shotgun, it’s not a pistol, it’s a SNIPER!

I must have missed that. What happened? Was that after the game got cut away from for Bama/Ole Miss?

In Brice’s defense, I must point out that he was both the punter and the kicker in HS at Camden County. I believe he kicked a 55 yard FG in a HS game.

His kicking ability is no fluke IOW. There were more than a few of us who wanted him to get a shot at Collin Barber’s job during his struggles.

Lambert by a landslide. It is hard to complete 20 straight passes in drills with no D players on the field. He was slinging it and the boys were snatching them out of the air. He made some outstanding reads. I am just gonna put on my rose colored glasses and sit around for a week or two.

Lambert by far. That one back shoulder pass that Mitchell caught was a thing of beauty between a QB and his receiver.

On another note think GameDay is still coming in 2 weeks? Will Corso pick Bama? Will Russ make his first apperance? Will all of the crew except Desmond still be slobbering over Ohio State and Notre Dame?

The desperation level will be 10 on a scale of 1-10 when they get to town. They lose to us, well, turn out the lights the party is over. So, if we tan their hides with the mode of desperation that lil nicky even now is conjuring up. Well….oooohhhhh boy! The stadium will come of the ground forget rocking.

I have been a critic of Lambert and his OC.
So congratulations to both for outstanding play and coaching. Excellent performance. One miss on an overthrow to the TE in back of end zone. But he could have thrown to a wide-open Mitchell underneath the coverage at the 10.
It would be good to see better play in the kicking game. The playbook was open due to great execution and a offense matched against a defense that lost at home to UK.
The test for the Dawgs will come soon against Bama at home and UT on the road. Paul Finbaum has put the Bama game in Bama’s won column. Do not think and Bama respect the Dawgs.
Rough day for the Alabams schools.
One thing about kicking game. Can not have Morgan making all the tackles. And Colin Barber aint getting it done.Ramsey insertion at end added was a message to Barber and to upcoming coaches.

  12. A doesn’t surprise me. B did/does. C worries me, if I’m honest, but mostly because Bama was good enough to turn it over 5 times and still be that close. What I saw was a very good Bammer make a season’s worth of mistakes in one game. They’re still a very good team who I see us having I fight until the last second for a win.
